^ That's so very sad, to get to such ages, then to be killed in a car wreck.

oh so sad about Anne Meara.....I have listened to their routines from the past a few times and it was easy to see where Ben Stiller inherited his comic talent from. Jerry Stiller was always so great on various sitcoms like Seinfeld for example.

RIP Mr. Van Patten - watched and loved that show, he was such a kindly father.

Don Featherstone, Inventor of the Pink Flamingo (in Plastic), Dies at 79
http://static01.nyt.com/images/2015/...blog427-v2.jpg
Don created the flamingo when he was freshly graduated from art school, and newly employed at a plastics factory. One of his first assignments was to create three-dimensional plastic lawn ornaments (up to that time, most plastic lawn ornaments were more or less flat). The flamingo was one of his earliest efforts for the factory.
Eventually he became president of the company
For 35 years, the Featherstones have — every day — worn matching outfits.
