NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Lynn Anderson, whose strong, husky voice carried her to the top of the charts with "(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden," has died. She was 67.
Her publicist said the cause of death was cardiac arrest.
it was "Rose Garden" that sealed her country music legacy, earning her a Grammy and Country Music Association's female vocalist of the year award in 1971.
She made television appearances with such stars as Lucille Ball, Bing Crosby, John Wayne and Tom Jones and she performed for presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter and Reagan. She was also in episodes of the TV show "Starsky and Hutch" and in the 1982 TV movie "Country Gold."
Anderson's other hits included, "Rocky Top," ''You're My Man," ''How Can I Unlove You," ''What a Man, My Man Is" and "Top of the World" (also recorded by the Carpenters).

Nat: thanks for the link, I had to stop and lister to this song again. I was such a part of my childhood. It's one of my moms fave songs and she would always sing along whenever it was on the radio.
67 is way too young...
OMG! I just read this! I am so so sad for his partner Steven and his family, loved their show, they were so entertaining together. So far no cause of death has been reported.

Christopher Hyndman, co-host of the afternoon talk show Steven and Chris on CBC-TV, has died.
"It is with profound sadness that we share the news Christopher Hyndman died early this morning," said the public broadcaster in a memo distributed to staff Tuesday afternoon.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to Steven, family, friends and colleagues; our thoughts are with them all."
Hyndman started the design company The Sabados Group with Steven Sabados, his off-screen partner and former television co-host, in 1992. The pair went on to notable success with several programs, including the HGTV shows Chic with Steven and Chris, Design Rivals and Designer Guys.
Hyndman often played the joker, while the more straitlaced Sabados played up his calm and pragmatic demeanour.
Chuck Thompson, head of public affairs at CBC English Services, said the show has been pulled from the schedule.
