"Hurricane Hazel" McCallion apparently used that handle as the title of her memoir, as file footage used in tv reels to talk about her public life & accomplishments. I was thrilled when she acknowledged that Mississauga missed the transit infrastructure updating around the time one prominent company announced plans to move its HQ from Toronto to Mississauga (near Heartland Town Centre area). The issue for some company staff was lack of TTC connections into MIssissauga except at one or two city border points; some staff were going to have to find other jobs due to commuting issues.
Rabbi Bernard Baskin who last resided in Toronto but spent decades in HAMILTON also passed away around the time that David Onley did. Rabbi Baskin wrote some stellar newspaper opinion pieces and book reviews. Steve Paikin of TV Ontario wrote a remembrance of the man he knew well: https://www.tvo.org/article/remember...bernard-baskin

Lance Reddick.....only 60 years old has passed away. His performances for roles on tv and in theatres were very much enjoyed by me.

Not too many are probably aware of this gentle comedic man and his love of furbabies, ( dogs mainly ). I am very surprised he was only 67 years old. His passing was sudden.

I used to watch For The Love Of Dogs all the time, his immediate interaction with the saddest of the strays would have me in both tears of laughter and heartache. he wanted to take home every pup that needed love and care. R.I.P. dear man.
