Do you buy all of your expensive electronics on credit cards to get rewards and what not or do you just pay with cash/debit? I usually just pay with debit but I feel like people are getting airmiles and cash back and I'm just missing out on something. Any advice?

The reason we buy with a credit card is to get the extra warranty on things. But our credit card comes out of our bank account, though, so it's like paying cash.

I pay with CC for the points and extra warranty and then pay off my CC monthly

I put most of my purchases on my credit card and then pay it in full when the bill comes in. My main CC is PC Mastercard so it gets me free groceries.

If you bou the electronics from a store that offers air miles even if you pay with debit you will still get your air miles. Check the air miles website to see stores that offer miles before you shops

In our household we pay everything we possibly can on Visa, to get the points. We get a lot of free gift cards that way; my most recent one was an SDM card to buy a Kindle for DH because he wouldn't leave mine alone! Even with an annual fee, it's worth it because the card covers the insurance on rental cars for us. One week of rentals and we more than have the annual fee back.

It can definitely be worthwhile to put everything on your rewards credit card - but ONLY if you pay it off each and every month. If you're giving them any money in interest, that erodes the value of any benefits you're getting from it.

I have 2 CCs one is the PC mastercard and that one I use for most things and pay it off when it comes in and get free groceries. The other is the Canadian tire mastercard. I use that one to pay any bills I can pay through their bill pay service which is things like house taxes, hydro, heating and that get me points to spend at CT. I don't know any other way I would get paid for paying my bills so it is free $ for me. ( I hate paying my property taxes but this makes it a little less painful). I believe you can set up all kind of recurring bills with them as well and get even more but some of the stuff is already set up so I just let those continue. One day I will get ambitious abd change them over as well.

I also will overpay the account at times so I don't miss the duedate and end up with late charges. I will do that if I know I have alot of bills being paid out.

I have charged a few large purchases onto it and never had to use the insurance on it. Not sure how that would work and if it make a difference in the end.

    The saving sure add up.

I stick to one credit card (MBNA Cashback) and charge everything to it. I'd say 95% of my purchases are made through it. I pay it all off always every month.
