Ohio is coming out for Obama, looks pretty good for him now. Ten minutes ago I was thinking Obama had a lock on a second term but Florida is back to a tie.

Going to be an interesting night.

They've had a long time to "test" the machines to make sure that when pressed a name that the vote counted as such and again, it should not be happening.
What about things like parachuting candidates into a riding to give them an edge, allowing folks who are likely not eligible to vote to cast a ballot (was done here in downtown Toronto one year when a certain candidate set up a voting station in a homeless shelter), or giving memberships to unsuspecting folks so that there would be enough names to allow a candidate to be declared (happened to my folks)? These things seem to be par for the course, but good luck getting any sort of media attention on this stuff, especially since the candidates in the above instances were not Conservatives.

I honestly don't know. I haven't been following it closely enough to know all the battleground state fallout implications. I just know Florida and Ohio are extremely important.

International observers blocked from polls in 9 states

A group of international electoral observers has been blocked from polling places in nine states and has had to take precautions in the face of security threats.
"We had to tell our people, don't approach a polling place within 100 feet," said Ambassador Daan Everts, who is leading the delegation from the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, a division of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. "We have had some unpleasant messages, euphemistically speaking."
After media reports falsely suggested they were in the country on behalf of the United Nations to challenge or interfere in the election, some states threatened to arrest the observers. Everts said they are being barred from polling places in Alabama, Alaska, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas.
The OSCE is not part of the United Nations, and Everts said the goal of the observers is limited and neutral and they will not challenge ballots or interfere in the election. The observers -- roughly 50 in all -- have been in the country for several weeks and are reviewing a number of benchmarks for democratic elections, including registration accessibility, campaign financing, media access for candidates, and whether the process is balanced and transparent.
I've sen a lot of my right-wing sites complaining that Obama is using the UN to stop free and fair elections by using neutral observers...

Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

You missed the story Darth. Texas threatened to arrest them if they dared show up in their state and violate electoral law.

And who can blame them? How are the internal affairs of any naton the business of any another?

The U.S. sends observers all over the world for elections though. So do we sometimes.
