This will be my first Christmas without my Dad..
Good morning, everyone. :)
Today is D-Day for me. The cataract surgery is set for 1:45pm at a clinic (not sick enough to be done in hospital :P). I'll be playing pirate for Xmas, so likely won't be able to post til the New Year. :P
On that note, Merry Christmas, everyone. :icon_santa: And here's hoping 2015 is the best year ever for all of us. :occasion18:
Oh, Andi....I'll send up a prayer for you and your surgeon this morning...okay done...and I wish you all the health, and all the happiness your heart can hold this Christmas and throughout the New Year!!!
HUGS to you, my Friend.....I hope we meet again, in the new year!
Merry Christmas to you and to Lily Dog and Quincy...

Andi, wishing you all the best with surgery and recovery - you will be in my prayers and thoughts!
Big hugs to you - the first is the hardest, though all of them are difficult. I wish you grace and peace as you get through the season.
For me, and others on SC who are without parents or other family members - holidays and special occasions tough to get through, but hopefully with help of our other loved ones, we get through... somehow.
I know I have already had, and will have more, crying jags - just missing my parents so very much. There are just so many triggers around Christmas.
Back to the present, I finally started my baking yesterday, and will continue today.
We celebrate Christmas Eve, so prep has to be bumped up a day compared to everyone else!
I do have to take it slowly, or else I'll be in worse shape than I am already!
Take care, everyone!

So true, Nat....with both my parents gone, and this silly accident, I've become more grateful as the years go by first for having had another year, then for all the love that surrounds me here from my family and a very special friend...
It's been quite the year: Avon and I have already decided to burn our 2014 calendars when 2015 rolls around!
A ritual cleansing....!
I just want to wish every one and your family a Merry Xmass and a Happy New Year. Best wishes to all of you. Take the time to enjoy family time together as this is the special thing that we have"FAMILY'..............................:-)
Oh, pooped from baking! Taking an iced tea break!
Best news is we have

Amazing how GOOD it feels! :)
We've been through a week of warmer than normal temps, but with that came every day being dull and just ick because of that.
Only thing good about the last week was how beautiful the hoarfrost was!
Enjoy your sunshine, Nat....! It's still dull and dreary here, expecting rain, +1....but know what? It's NOT snowing!! Hah!
I sewed a few mobius scarves from silky fabric and one from a soft suede-like fabric...I'm not sure what I want to do with them, of if I like them or not.....hmph.
Enjoy your day, everyone!!
I think I shall have a Bailey's over ice now.
I should really not be chatting right now, I do have a list a mile long, but that pesky specialist appt later today just annoyed me. After that is over I intend to roll up my sleeves and start some prep of the menu ingredients for Thursdays feast! Everyone enjoy your Christmas, wishing you all the very best the season can bring.
Oh and Andit.....I'll be lovingly referring to you as " Blinky " in the threads until you return.
