So HERE'S an interesting story.....strange but true...funny how some things happen!!

I was sitting with my Hubby in the living-room, listening to a lecture on my ipad, and asked him if he had
earphones for it. Yes, he did, so he got them for me and I plugged them in and then thought,
"Oh, great. Only one side is working." So I decided, for some reason, to switch the ear-pieces and found out that it isn't the earphones that are defective, it's me! I only heard whatever ear-piece was in my right ear! The other one was so quiet, I didn't even bother to put it in, as I continued to read.


See? Growing old is like playing "Whack a Mole"...you get one thing under control, and boom! Something
else pops up!! Thank goodness it's nothing serious, but it explains why I need the tv on louder than most
people and why I can't follow conversations in a restaurant or when there's other distracting noise around.

Went to metro to use my coupon for free minion product at 1am. Anyway they had a sign on door stating that starting Aug 3rd they will no longer be 24 hours. Wont be shopping there anymore since only reason I went there was they were open 24 hours lol.

Good morning, all!
It's a good thing I have nowhere to go today: 'the guys' have dismantled our front steps to rebuild them, and our side door still has the driveway dug down in preparation for paving. Hubby can "walk the plank" out that door, but not someone with crutches, lol...

Our SIL is golfing in a big invitational golf tournament starting today, and they have the gala to attend tomorrow evening, so that's a really big deal for him...:)...Hubby's golfing today and I'm on the sofa with Jenny wrapped in 'our' faux Sherpa blanket, and she still hasn't wanted to venture out to do her business. It's evidently nap time. I'll have to hoist her over when I need another cuppa coffee. She'll stay asleep...sigh...even though she was the one who just had to get up!! :rolleyes:

Well, don't let me keep you, busy people! Keep busy and Friday will zip by for you!

Well I'm happy. Jake & I just got back from our walk, well his run.
For the first time in almost 6 weeks, he ran & ran & ran in the field, until he exhausted himself.
Then he wanted to play. When we got home, HE ATE !!!!!!!
Fingers crossed he's on the mend, but it was so nice to see him more like himself again. :excited: :excited:

That's such good news, Hicks! How we worry about our fur-kids! Jake sounds like he's finding his ol' self again...bless his little heart..:)
Jenny continues to nap on my lap. I chatted with DD this morning on her way to another of her banks for a couple of client meetings, so that's always so much fun....we'll do the same on her way back...:)

It's a really 3 H day today with a Heat Advisory for the weekend.

What a cutie that puppy is!

Well my basement adventures of the past 3 days have taken their toll on my back. We had to go out today and buy a new dehumidifier, as the other one just isn't working and we've got to get the basement dried up.

Thankfully the rain we had didn't cause any more issues.

But now the new humidifier is sitting in it's box in the basement as getting it in and downstairs did us in.

We also bought a stand-up fan and a hose to connect the dehumidifier to the sump pump.

I told DH today that I am about ready to fix this place and then move to an apartment! We have had so much bad luck here!

He was not happy with that idea!

He reminded me of the lack of selected tion here in Chatham and the problem we would have with our happy dogs.

I must go and try to rest a bit more before I tackle the basement again.
