Wow, less than half her weight.!!! I hope she settles in quickly so she'll eat well, and get her strength back.
Boy, she's so lucky you found her when you did. At 4 lbs., she might not have survived much longer. Scary.

Wow, half her weight! Hicks is right: you got her home just in time, poor lamb. Strange that Vader is behaving like that, isn't it? I don't know much about cats, but goodness, that just breaks my heart all over again. She does look content; I hope her appetite comes back nicely. Are you feeding her more fattening foods? I have no idea what....cream? I know pasta does it for me...
She's in good hands and I'm pretty sure you understand Taffy the best....what a happy outcome for all of you!
we need a Taffy thread!!
I am still all verklempt about her lonely and frightening time away from you all Nat. Would a vet visit give you more peace of mind about her health? ( I know the $$ are always awful just for an exam )
Best of luck nursing her back to health though , at least she knows she is safe again.....well I mean as long as Vader calms down.
What is causing his reaction I wonder? Maybe he did not recognize her all dirty and skinny?
Or maybe smells other animals on her fur?
For sure, Vader spent a lot of time sniffing around the whole place, once we let her out of the bedroom prison, lol! She stands at the edge of the room and just stares at Taffy - and if she goes by her, it's in a slow-motion walk (which is actually quite funny). Haven't heard any hissing over the past little while, but they haven't gotten closer than a few feet to each other - yet Taffy will walk toward Vader, but Vader then walks away - honesly, like her Mom is some stranger. I picked her up just a while ago for a snuggle, and she had on what we call her 'crazy eyes' - usually like that when she's scared. So I just petted her silly, comforted her (and me), but she wouldn't purr for me.
Walks, for sure Taffy still doesn't smell good - she will need another good bath - today's was just to get the really yucky gunk off.
Since she's not hurt, we thought we would give her a day or so at home, just to see how she is, to see whether she needs a vet. Already we do see a difference in how she's walking, like she's regained some strength.
As for food, there's not really anything high-calorie to give. She's had cooked real chicken and some skin - because it's her fave, but I also gave her the margarine bowl (which she loves and I usually just give her a smidgen on my finger) - there's just marg. on the sides and bottom of the bowl, so she's been licking it. I'll give her some chicken drippings tonight, too. No cream or milk, though - cats don't get those!
Here it is 10:30 and we're still not sure what to do with them for the night - maybe the two of us can take shifts so one of us is up at all times...
Oh, well - it's been an exciting day - and a happy one!
Good night, all - thanks so much for showing your caring! :)
@Natalka ..so pleased Taffy is home and safe..
I wish I had kind of talent like this..

Good morning everyone, So glad to hear Taffy's back Nat.Attachment 299609
Well, the kitties made it through the night okay - Vader is still all hissy, but they did share a kiss without one, lol - at least once they got that close to each other! Taffy cuddles up on the couch, but when the heat comes on she gets off and goes to lie down in front of the register, then goes back.
This morning when I got up, she was so needy for snuggles, so spent a lot of time in my arms (unlike the old her), but I was fine with that. I had to cut out some crap out of her tail, so there's a bit less fur there now.
Big difference in that she's walking normally - it was so obvious she was so much weaker yesterday. Even holding her head up better - yesterday she was just more blah.
It's still a shock to pick her up to hold her, because all you feel is bones, very pokey spine - but if you just see her, she hides it because she's got fluffy fur. When she curls up in a circle to sleep, it's such a smaller ball of cat than her normal, she's like kitten size.
However, she's happy - and it's obvious to see it. Oh, and so are we! :)

Yeah, Hicks...but it's CYBER Monday!
After my tire change-over app't, and
doggie nail trim this morning, I'm hoping to
get in on some of the deals (most have free shipping!).
Today is the anniversary of my husband's death. He was 56, and died 7 years, 4 1/2 hours ago.
It's the 1st time I won't be able to visit him, but he knows I miss him every single day. :bawling:
