Careful with that shoveling, it can be so hard on a person. That's one thing I don't miss. Dh always did the driveway and sidewalks (with the snow blower) and I did the entrance to our house with the shovel. One time we had that really heavy wet snow and it and I didn't get along very well, let's just say it won...

No worries here about taking it easy. I will shovel 3 or 4 times to keep the load light.
I will never understand how people will sit in their house and wait until it is done snowing then shovel it all.....do it a few times, it may take longer, but it is so much easier on your body.
Now a snowblower does sound appealing
hope you are enjoying some sunshine today....I am, via vitamin d lolLove like crazy everyday and smile.

If buses are canceled don't take your kids to school if it's not safe for the bus drivers It's not safe for you either. This is our board policy and they cancel school's not buses. But if you can get them there safely no harm done.

Have a great day everyone, I'm off to drop Marley at the groomers and take Maggie to the vet for her second check up and round of shots. Stay warm.

morning! there is *SO* much snow. the bus lines were cancelled here but the school my daughter goes to doesn't have busses but they were on the bus cancel list...so i'm assuming the school is closed?
anywho, went outside to start shoveling....got a bit done but dd2 kept falling over into the snow and was crying so we just came in. sorry DH you'll have to bust out the snowblower when you get home!

Going to break out the snow blower this afternoon and see if I can't remember how to work it. There's just too much snow for me to shovel. We have a double driveway and it's fairly long -about 6 cars can fit, not including the carport (which I loveeeeee!I dont miss scraping off the car every morning).

wish i knew how to work ours. i dont mind shoveling the light fluffy stuff but this is just gross. the end of the driveway has gotta be a foot and a half deep. nuts to that!

DH gave me a crash course before he left. Now I'm praying I remember. lol. I've been shovelling because I didn't want to use it. It's bigger than me. lol. But there's now where I'm shovelling it all. I'll be out there forever. lol.
I'm supposed to check on my mom's today too... Not going to happen. They come back tomorrow night and they will probably be coming back to a mountain of snow since I doubt I'll get over again to shovel. I already did it twice this week!

I agree. I'm completely the same. But unfortunately with DH gone for weeks at a time, I've been forced to learn a lot of skills I didn't want to.
I somehow lucked out this Summer and didn't have to mow the lawn once. *yahoo* DH did it when he was home and BIL did it once or twice also.
Not so lucky with the snow. Was hoping it would hold off until Tuesday when DH arrives but no such luck.
Oh well, guess I get to learn a new thing today. Should be interesting... lol
