Good morning all.

Thank you all for your positive vibes and well wishes.
It was a VERY long day yesterday, but bottom line, all went well, actually, better than just well.
I was @ the hospital for almost 8 hours.
- they x-rayed, removed the cast, waited to see the surgeon, he wanted a 2nd opinion, so waited to see another; @ that point, I was sure they were going to operate.
- saw the 2nd surgeon, and he ordered an M.R.I.
- finally, the conscious was - NO SURGERY :excited::excited::excited::excited::excited:
- next, to make things even better, they both were in the room, and agreed that I could have a air cast / boot; I can start to weight-bear, no more than 5 - 10%
- finally, I waited for the physio; she went through a number of exercises; they gave me a requisition to start physio
- follow up appt. in 6 weeks, by which time I should be @ the point I can be 100% weight-bearing, but only with the boot on for support
- they put the boot on, waited for my ride & got home about 5:30
I called the dog sitter to bring Jake home, call a friend to tell her about my day, and she picked up some dinner, so we ate & visited till about 8:30.
Believe it or not, I laid down to rest just before 9, and didn't wake up till 8:30 this morning.
Anyhow, I thought I'd catch you up, and thank you again.

That is so great Hicks.
:) :) :) :)
22Hicks, that's the best news you could have hoped for! Thank heavens you don't need surgery! You're going to be right back to normal in the spring!! I'm so relieved and happy for you!
As for us, our DD and her Hubby will be on their way to TO for the boat show tomorrow night, right after her 10am client meeting. With the news this morning re our economy, it looks like she'll have more than a few panicky calls from clients when she gets back. They're taking her assistant in TO out for lunch, then the Friday boat show. Which means that we have our Grandson for the weekend, although with his skating after school today, swimming tomorrow, I won't really have time with him until Saturday, lol! He loves to cook, so I have to think of a dinner recipe that he and I can make together that's safe to eat on our diet. Yes, life in the fast retired lane!
Have a great day, everyone! Mild temps here, snow melting, ahhhh life is good! :)
Merry Little Christmas, Natalka!
Nat, sounds like you had a great Little Christmas. :)
Lynn, thanks; it was MUCH better news than I ever imagined. :) Enjoy your time with your Grandson.
Great news, Hicks! Long, tiring day for you, but you got great results.
Wonderful that you've got some mobility back...six weeks will pass fast.
I saw my orthopaedic surgeon today too. It's been ten weeks since my
knee surgery, and after several x-rays, he discharged me. Feel great, all
the previous pain is gone.
Going out tonight for a fun evening with my daughter. She's taking me to
the ACC to see a Cirque du Soleil show. Should be fabulous!
hicks, I'm so very glad it went well for you - but wowsers, what a very long day you had there!
Wishing you steady and sustained healing! :flowers:
Well, it's beautiful and white outside - it's been really nice to get more snow.
Even though it's Christmas Day, not doing Ukr. food today - we've had enough, lol! Bonus for me is that husband will bring home supper after work.
We don't do gifts for this day, but I thought this was cute to see come up on FB

Enjoy the afternoon, everyone!
Margy, how absolutely wonderful for you!!
My gosh, there's been SO much good news on here today!!! :)
My wonderful news is that it's +1 today, going up to +2 on Saturday, AND our Grandson skated so well today, and we watched a little of a hockey game!!
Yucky news is there's something wrong with my eye, it's tearing (has been for weeks) but now it hurts to touch the inside part near my nose...I'm using pink-eye prescription stuff, but if it's not gone by Monday or at least improved, I'll call our doc back as he suggested I do.
Sweet dreams, everyone!!
@Lynn49 - sorry about your eye. I hope it doesn't get any worse, but you'd better get it checked soon.

Good morn!
Wow, I can't believe the week zipped by so quickly - crazy!
Well, it's a very cold day and it's only going to get worse tonight, with a -36 windchill overnight - yuck!
Have a lovely day, everyone!

Good morning, everyone!!
Gosh I get so involved with the diet thread, it takes a while to get on here, but I have to stay motivated and on track and it's going to well so far! ;)
Loved watching our Grandson skate last night, and then he loved the fact that we let him watch some of the hockey game...I asked one of the guys there how old the kids on the ice were, and he said, "11 years old!!" I couldn't believe it! They skated like pros and puck-handled so well!! What a difference 4 years can make.
Oh! I asked him if he was going to play hockey like that some day. His reply? "Nah..I'm still thinking 'dentist'"." :-~
My eye continues to be painful; I've got antibiotic drops, so I'll see what happens in a few days; what a bother. But old age, eh? Playing "Whack A Mole" all the days through! But each time I get through something I feel stronger..maybe that's why people who do this live longer than people who get one thing in their old age and poof! Gone. Interesting hypothesis....
Have a great day, everyone!! 0 degrees today, going up to +2 tomorrow!!
Natalka, heavens, so sorry for the cold snap you're having right now; I just couldn't imagine it. Amof I don't even want to imagine it. Stay in, bundle up, snuggle Taffy and Vader and get through this...how many weeks until spring??!!
Take care, everyone!!
Lynn, heat is running full blast here!
I must have missed it - what's wrong with your eye? I've had a sty for about a week, hoping it goes away soon. It hurt at the beginning, now it just gets itchy once in a while.
Hi, Nat. Well, that eye has simply been watery and tearing whenever I went outside, inside it was fine. I told our doc and he has me on an antibiotic fir pinkeye because for a few days it really looked like that, but now it's just painful in the inside corner...I can hardly touch it when I wipe the drops of medication off. It looks absolutely normal, though! No redness, nothing. I'm guessing it may be a blocked tear duct and told my doc that no one is sticking a needle in it! He just smiled because he puts up with my scarcely-Catness, lol. But now...give me a Valium and get that needle ready! What next?! :-~
Stay warm, sweetie..we have puddles in the street; the white crap is dying!! Mwahahaha!
Today's the anniversary of Elvis' birth. I guess my age's showing, but I don't care.
The 1st and last artist I was head over heals over.
I'm watching TCM showing lots of his movies & specials - be still my heart. :love4:
Attachment 302697
Oh, he was lovely when he did those "beach" teen movies...before he went crazy like so many celebrities that end up on pedestals where no one can save them. But now? I could care less. Better things to think about, I guess.
I was f-l-i-p-ping through the tv guide and came across Oprah's 'where are they now?' shows and scanned over them...I knew NO ONE she was going to have on! I'm SO not a celebrity watcher, it's unbelievable, couldn't even think of more than a handful of names I could actually put to their pictures.
So we watched a new dinosaur movie that came out a month or so ago, I got Grandson hooked on the app "Crossy Road", lol...I only found it today; it can be so addictive and frustrating, I'll delete it on Sunday when he's home again.
Have a fantastic FRIDAY evening, everyone!!! We're expecting +3 tomorrow, but then there's a warning about a shock of cold air coming our way...so which is it, I wonder?

Way too early of an awakening this morning - hours before I stopped by here.
Enjoy whatever the day brings you!

Good morning everyone.Attachment 302751
Good morning every1. Boy, gotta love these mild temps. :)

Good morning, everyone!!
Hicks, so true!!! +3 today and lovin' it!!!!! The white crap is dying out there as I type this!
Hubby and our Grandson have taken little Jenny for a walk so I have some time on here to
look a few things up. Then I think we're going to do some baking after lunch. Yep, just the
kind of thing one needs to do while on a diet!:-~
Have a great day, everyone!!
Is anyone else going to the boat show in TO? Our DD and SIL said it was fantastic last night...and thankfully they didn't buy a boat, although she phoned this morning to talk to their little guy and said it was really tempting! But until they have a slip at the campground we're in, it doesn't make sense to have one. I just know they'll get one one day and it had better be FAST!! And for once they didn't buy anything at the auction...cocktails were free, and they had a lovely time. Then went as a group to some bar called "Orbit" after dinner...jealous!!!!!
Enjoy the day, everyone!!!!!
The boys are home, time to make lunch for them!
