Drove db back and forth to London today in the RAIN for a dr. appointment. Boy was I tired when I got home. I have my packing 80% done. We're off tomorrow to head to Denver - flying out of Detroit - trying to get the packing down to 1 suitcase and 2 carry ons - but I really have to THINK about which of my fluids goes into my take-on - what pills, what other "absolutely necessaries" and also anything heavy so that we don't overload the suitcase. DH does make use of his "man-bag" which we bought over in Spain last year when we were travelling so he helps to carry on the snacks and drinks that we take on the plane.
DSIL phoned this morning in a panic because she'd just received a phone call from the hospital that the major surgery she has been waiting for is going to happen TOMORROW MORNING - she didn't have time to get VERY nervous. She'll be in hospital for a week in London and that means that there won't be anyone to visit dmil in the nursing home all week. It's too bad that it all happened at the same time. We would have liked to have been with her when she came out of surgery - but it just can't work.
Dmil will get upset because she'll forget that we're away and she won't understand why no one is visiting her.
Well - I've got to go clear the bed off and hit the sack so we can get a 'well - though-out" start in the morning. Have a great week everyone!
Avon.....you know I've totally given up on you, right? I mean....I've tried to make you rest once in a while. Heaven knows I've tried to make it clear to you that never stopping long enough to actually take a deep breath isn't healthy. But there you go again.
I think that between you and Patty, you could power a generating station!
Have fun on yet another adventure, dear Friend......I'm sure...{{{sob}}} that you'll find time to meet with me in Toronto some time this summer {{{sniff}}}....I hope your dear SIL's surgery goes well...hugs to your hubby and to you...have a wonderful trip!!!! Bye!!!http://www.desicomments.com/graphics/goodbye/28.gif
Hiiiiiiiiii!!! Oh how I've missed you all! I've been so tired after work that I just go to bed and don't do much of anything lol.
How is the new job?
It's going well... yesterday was my first full day of work on my own and I think I did ok lol. The problem is, they made such a big deal about how swamped they were in this area but two days now they've have nothing in my schedule :( I really hope it picks up or else I'll have to pick up a second job.
Sheets, FP, Nat, good morning ladies :hello:
Glad to hear you're adjusting well Sheets, and remember there is a 'learning curve' at any new place. They may be swamped in other areas, but at this point in time, aren't able to get you to help with that stuff yet.
Morning, everyone!!
Well!!! What an adventure that first camping trip was!! It was so, so wonderful being with our DD, her DH and our Grandson at the provincial park....spending quiet time together...my taking an early morning walk with Jenny to the lake...everything looks clearer somehow...greener... Since we've been home I've already booked Hubby and I into 3 other camping sites alone, then again with the kids the week after school starts. I love it! Of course it's not exactly roughing it, lol....but it's away from home, and like our DD said, even if she did get the urge to do laundry....she couldn't! haha! I love it for my Hubby...we could be sitting on the patio, wine, chatting, but if he sees a weed, or something else to be done....he wanders over to do it! With camping...he's forced to relax.
I'll be back to catch up on the news, but coffee is calling me, and there's so much to pre make, pre bake for our Grandson's 5th birthday this weekend!! DD's working 8-8 for the next couple of days, so I'm pitching in....
Have a lovely day, everyone..hope it's sunny where you are!!
Lynn, so glad you had a nice relaxing weekend, and good that you are planning more!
Good morning everyone. Lynn, I'm so happy that everyone enjoyed themselves so much. I too, absolutely adore camping. I love the smell first thing in the morning, so fresh and it's so quiets. No traffic, no police sirens, no nothing, it's amazing! I can't wait to head out on July 1 for a month of quietness and serenity. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I spent it convincing Dr's that I could go home, and . . . I wish to announce that TODAY . . . I'm going to be RELEASED!!!!!! Yep, just one last check in about an hour from my Dr. and I get to go home as long as my bloodwork comes back and my recent infection is gone :) I'm extatic!!!
Lynn, glad to hear you had such a good time :)
The lady and I are going camping with a bunch of friends later next month. She's not a 'camping outdoors, sleeping on the ground, no running water' kind'a gal, but she's doing it any way...the things you do for friends! LoL should be great fun...maybe more so for me watching her all weekend...but fun nonetheless!
Holly, that's great news! bet you're looking forward to heading home!
on another note...
I just posted a new thread for this...have a look-see
Anti-drunk driving campaign
So happy to hear they are releasing you Holly (but we are not so we expect an update that you are home lol)
Lynn, sounds like you had a blast!!! I'm going camping in July and I can't wait :)
Holly, yay!!! I'll bet it will be nice to be home!
