It's 4:34 and my dog has vomitted 7 times in the past hour and a half. I'm up trying to keep up and wash bed sheets, pillows and clean up floors whenever he has an incident. He wants to drink a lot. I looked up chamomile tea to see whether it might be toxic to dogs. It is reportedly "soothing" so I made some up for him and he's just had some - reluctantly. I checked on the internet as he has vomitted in the middle of the night for 4 nights now. Each time just once until tonight. We are going through a tense time as my mil is very very ill and we've been rushing in and out of here so I think he may be anxious. He's also been eating grass outside which, I guess indicates a stomach problem. Any other suggestions? I'm going to phone the vet in the morning. He had this happen once before and the vet suggested trying to get him to take Pepto Bismol - but he wouldn't have any of it!!! (I have to force MYSELF to drink it when I need it!)

Oh poor pup. Post back what the vet says.
Mine will barf once in a while when she is upset or her routine has been changed, also when her diet has been changed with too many doggie treats or if she didnt get enough supper.
I agree with you that being in and out of the house would cause enough anxiety to make him puke, but would be interested to know what the vet tells you.Do you want to buy and sell Bitcoin? Oh poor guy! I hope all is ok. I know my dog vomits once in awhile when he just travels. Stress will also do it. Maybe he has a tummy bug? eating grass could mean he has an upset stomach, mine eats it just bc lol
Please let us know what happens at the vets.

He has bounced back this morning and I cooked him up some very bland chicken. I have looked up on the internet what to do. We are feeding him little bits at a time. We also have a family member critically ill so we're torn in several ways. I'm going to stay with him as much as i can today. He seemed to really come around after he drank the chamomile tea. I'll keep you abreast of what happens.

Pumpkin is good for diarhea.
You could give him a little coconut water if he gets dehydrated. It's packed with electrolytes and potassium.
How big is he? Depending on size, you could give him a little gravol. Used to give it to my dog for travel.
Also, if you think it's stress related, try giving him Valerian in the evening. It's safe and calming.
If he turns his nose up at chamomile tea, you can buy capsules. . .sneak it in his food.Last edited by MortgageQueen; Wed, Sep 12th, 2012 at 05:16 PM.

Thank, folks! He's back to normal - I fed him chicken for 2 days and worked back to his normal food. I thought about rice but I wasn't sure. I had heard about pumpkin for constipation but it's good to know it works both ways.
