My DH needs to purchase contacts. This something we have never purchased before and I have no idea what prices are like.

If anyone knows of any good deals/stores out there for contacts, please let me know.

    Thanks

For the first time, I would definitely do it through the optometrist, that's what I did.

The best price is at costco, they beat everyone else by far!

Thanks, we'll have to check it out.

He's already been to the optomitrist for a prescription.

I know they have great deals on glasses. Has anyone ordered contacts from them? Are their prices better than Costco's?

I used to get them there for my daughter, but now I have a drug plan. I really shopped around (truce SCer) and Costco was by far cheaper - you do need a copy of the perscription from your opt, or I think they may have to go in to see theirs, it was a bit of a pain, but they had bundle packs and if I remeber right they were $70/pair/6months of acuvue at my docs and worked out to $48 at Costco _but that was a few years ago.

Check the prices, but don't forget to ask their procedure for buying them, because I waited till we were almost out, then went in to Costco and had to go through all kinds of hoops. You can't just buy them off the shelf (like I thought). Good Luck

My DH has always just 'bought them off the shelf' at costco. The only time he had to actually do something was when he was getting samples, they took him into a room for about 5 mins, check out his eyes and gave him a free sample of a new kind to try (we were trying it cause it's cheaper than the ones he was using before) Costco even beats clearlycontacts.ca when they have coupon codes - I really shopped around for his contacts!
