As I'm sure EVERYBODY here knows, the Advil Nighttime was on sale @ SDM a short while back for only $3.99 for the 10-pk.....which meant FREE with the $4.00 off coupons that are out. I initially was going to pick these up during the 18,500 BP WUB $75 worth of merchandise event they ran, but after my 2 shops at 2 different locations that week (and discovering that they were sold out everywhere
meh, such is life) I decided to take a different approach as I was wanting to get quite a few boxes.
I stopped by the Lacombe location on my way back from a grocery shop at the No Frills just to see if they had any in stock. They didn't. I asked the girl who was stocking the shelves if they happened to have any stock in the back or if there was any that would be in soon. She went & checked for me, confirmed that they were completely sold out, and informed me that they would be getting a shipment in the following week sometime. I asked her if I'd be able to get a raincheck.....she said absolutely! I then asked if I'd be able to get a raincheck for 20 boxes.....she said of course! Well YAY! I went to the cash desk to pay for my other items & the cashier proceeded to do up my raincheck....when she asked me how many Advil, I told her 20 boxes please
She made a quick call back to the pharmacy & was informed that, yes, I was able to do the raincheck for the whole 20 boxes and that they would special order those additional 20 boxes & hold them at the front desk for me when they arrived!
I got the call yesterday so I took a little drive to pick them all up today & sure enough they were there waiting for me at the front cash
No sweat, no hassle, no cost & super friendly service with a smile
I also picked up a new small reusable bag & a clearance bottle of the St. Ives Body Wash so my total looked like this:
20 x Advil Nighttime @ $3.99 = $79.80 - $80.00 coupons = + $0.20
1 x St. Ives Body Wash @ $2.99 - $1.50 coupon = $1.49
1 x Reusable Bag @ $0.79
Total Before Coupons = $83.58
Minus Coupons - $81.50
Grand Total OOP = $2.18
Plus I earned 830 Regular Points PLUS 20,000 BP (1000 BP for EACH box of Advil) for a grand total of: 20830 BP
So the moral of the story................if a store is out of something that you are looking for, instead of complaining - form another plan of attack!! ASK FOR A RAINCHECK!!! More often than not, you'll be able to get one
(or else just PM at another store
)
Disclaimer:
** No animals were hurt during this brag. Nor were any shelves cleared. I ask that any negative/sarcastic comments especially those regarding the number of boxes I purchased or the method in which I purchased them are left where they now reside. In your head. Thank you for your consideration

GAWD I wish I had your SDM!!!!

My SDM barely allows coupon use. And there's a limit of 2 items per person for a raincheque. It's like they are saying.......please DON'T give us business!!! Seriously!

Great Brag! I wish I thought of that.
On a side note; Anyone try these Advil's yet? My Lord they are strong. I was noticably buzzed after one pill.
Anyone try to read the instructions? I needed to read it 10 times, and I STILL don't understand....All I understood was take 1 or 2 and don't drive...other than that, I will need a lawyer to explain the rest. And what is "marked drowsiness" mean?
Anyways.....slept like a baby (who got into the liquor cabinet).

Nice deal with the rainchecks! Even though I haven't tried these Nightime Advils yet, I read that they are stong and will knock you out good! LOL!

I love the disclaimer.
Don't take these if you are not going to get 8 hours of sleep. I almost fell asleep in my keyboard Monday
