He's the elected leader of a country recognised by the UN and as such is allowed to address the General Assembly. Doesn't mean that other members have to listen to him though.
Canadian delegates again walked out on him following previous years protests.
The Canadians also walked out last year, but with Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird having shuttered Canada’s embassy in Iran just three weeks ago, tensions between the two countries are running higher than ever. “We will not sit silently in our chairs and listen to Iran’s hateful, anti-Western, anti-Semitic views,” Baird’s press secretary Rick Roth said in a statement.
“If anything, today’s address only reinforces our decision earlier this month to suspend diplomatic relations with Iran.”
Ahmadinejad didn’t mention Canada by name during the first part of his speech, but a statement posted Wednesday by the Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran’s official news agency, was making headlines all the same.
The statement, attributed to Iran’s Foreign Ministry, warned Iranian citizens against travelling to Canada, citing “Islamophobia,” “Iranophobia” and a “double-standard” in Canada towards human rights.

Better to know where all the "crazies" are than they having them live in caves in Afghanistan eh?
Not that I am for anyone having nuclear weapons but HIS point has always been who do the states and israel think they are(both of whom have nuclear weapons) to tell them they cannot have nuclear weapons. This is his standard line year after year.
Oh and lets not forget who is the only country to ever use weapons of mass destruction resulting in the deaths of 100's of thousands .

His own people want to kill him. In time, I suspect they will.
I see he was meeting with the New Black Panther Party, Occupy Wall Street, Communist Groups and others today.
Who would enjoy watching a more intense version of the 2009 Iranian uprising, this time 5 times as intense?

People should really choose a better person to lead their country. People must also know who they put in the position as their president. It's not easy to find a good leader in this generation.

He is quite the sh*t disturber and funny how he uses "free speech" at the U.N. but if people in his own country were to speak out against mohammed or be openly gay they would be killed.

The struggle to be free is never pretty. I hope that when the Iranians rise up again, we offer our moral support. Unlike 2009 when western nations called for a quick end to the violence by both sides... who were told, were having a debate. Next time.....

The man just doesn't look very bright, does he? He's a puppet, I think, for that whole corrupt regime he's part of...getting rid of him would just place another idiot puppet into his place. Different face, same strings. Only a major uprising and a government overthrow and overhaul would cure that country of its disease...

As for wondering why he has the right to be alive, perhaps that should be worded a little differently. we might not like a person for whatever reason, but when we question their right to live, well that might be crossing a line.

I would be interested in hearing the viewpoints of ppl who have family roots in and around Iran, and who have lived in that region themselves. They might have better insight into what life in Iran is like, what he is like as a leader for his ppl and how "alive" they would all like him to be.
