Wow what a day for my first time for 20X the points at Shoppers today.
Well, I got what I wanted went to the cashier my total was 56.00 I then gave her my coupons and after she took off the coupons she said I had to go get more items to bring it back up to 50.00
OK, now I am having a bit anxiety thinking oh boy what do I buy!!!!
I ended up getting more items (but I had to do it so fast and wasn't really sure what I was getting, lol) and a huge line up behind me I felt so stupid.
The good news is I saved $46.92 in coupons
A few hours later I had a look at my receipt and saw that I was charged regurlar price not the sale price for three items, now I have to go back.
I have never done this before and was thinking I would of gotten a lot more points then I did, BUT I am still happy
Total $103.51 - my coupons of 46.92 = 56.59
Points earned
Regular 800
Product Bonus Points 1270
Store Bonus Pointed 15200
Total Points 17270
I am not sure but I think the Store Bonus Points are the 20X the Points. Should I of gotten 20x the regular points? Meaning 800 x 20 = 16,000 points? Sorry still not sure how this all works
still learning
thank you to everyone for all our input with the coupons and how to find the deals MUCH APPRECIATED TO ALL OF YOU !!!!!This thread is currently associated with: Shoppers Drug Mart

I think the store bonus points are the points required to bring the combination of your regular points and the store bonus points up to a total of 20X the regular points. So all together (not including product bonus) you deserved 16000, which means they gave you 15200 bonus above what they'd usually give you, to bring your total up to 20X what it would normally be in regular points. Does that make any sense?

Just so you know for next time, as long as you are above $50 before coupons (assuming none of them are free product ones) you will still get your 20x points even if the subtotal after coupons is less than $50. The cashier might not agree with this, but your bill will.
Also when you go back, make sure you get your SCOP for the items they mis-charged you on.

First off great shopping!

For the future though... you don't have to have 50$ after coupons for this type of promotion (if it's a promotion that gives you a gift card for spending a certain amount then that's a different story). But in the case of points you just have to have a subtotal (before tax and coupons) that is 50$. To the computer your coupons, so long as they are put in as 2001 (which would be the code that they use for any $$$ off coupons), the computer "sess" them as cash. As other people have pointed out on SC if you get told by the cashier that you need to get back up to 50$ just tell them you don't care about the bonus points. I usually tell them I'd rather save the $$ with my coupons and I'm happy with the regular points. Then low and behold when I look on my receipt after- bingo!- I got the points.
The only coupons that can change this are the FPC coupons... they get put in as a code 2002, which the computer then doesn't see as cash. So if you are only using FPC coupons and you go below 50$ after coupons you don't get the points.
Make sense?
But in all a great haul for you today. You should be proud of yourself!

@ Smilesaver, you did great! You got 17000 points for OOP $56. Today was my first time doing 20x. My OOP is $51 and only got 10000 points. What a newbie I was, I even forgot to buy a SDM giftcard first. Next time I will try get there earlier, most things on my list sold out.

Wanted to come back and add, if the 3 items they mischarged you on are all different UPCs, you should get each for free (assuming they are each under $10).

I SCOP'D there today. Charged me $3.99 for the scooby-snacks. She was putting it in at $1.99 when I asked if they participated in SCOP. So she asked another person and they said yes. So I got them for free. Next time I would just prefer the right price. Who knows how many times I have paid too much for stuff.

That just stands for " Scanning Code Of Practice " and really it is an agreement that certain retailers take part in ( not ALL retailers) .
If a product you are buying gets scanned at the wrong price ( higher than what you saw it listed for on the shelf) then the store agrees that they have " inconvenienced " you, sort of and they are willing to show good customer appreciation by compensating you in this way.
If the item that was wrongly scanned costs under $10.00, then you now get that item for free, if the item scanned wrongly is over $10.00 then you are given $10.00 off the price.
