Hope everyone is having a good weekend

My Mum and Dad are here for the weekend, and will be taking Grandpa to their house for a full week!!!!!! A much needed break for DH and I who are his 24/7 caregivers. It's been a number of years since we've had a break that has lasted more than a couple of hours -so we are really REALLY looking forward to it!
While my Mum was watching the kids I went to SDM to pick up milk and a few goodies, and ended up doing my "mega" redemption a week early -everything I had planned on getting was on sale, and since redemption is a lot lower this year I decided I was further ahead to get it now while on sale, rather than wait until next week when things are back to regular price. We are now stocked up on coffee ($5 for big cans of Folgers & Maxwell house), razor blades, honey, peanut butter, tuna, flour and a few other items for the year
Happy to have it done, but sad that redemption levels are so low this year

I might even redeem tomorrow if it continues tomorrow. need to check the flyer again to see if things I want are on sale. no point of waiting for "mega" redemption.

My techie hubby says that the WiiU is not going to work as well with the movement games because there is not a good physics card ??? I'm a total techtard so I have no idea what he's talking about but we discussed getting one for my son and he said not until at least next year after the first round of "bugs" get fixed. We have the regular old Wii..actually just bought a new one since my son's is about 5 yrs old and blinking out a little. We got the blue one with the skylanders game at Toys R Us..it's a good deal if you were planning to buy that game anyway
We also have an XBox Kinect...hubby uses it way more than my son does so depending on the ages of your children, it seems the XBox is suited to older children. Hope that helps in your decision making...I hate trying to figure out the video games, leave it all up to hubby.

We went to see it last night too! We loved it and got the good seats in front of the wheelchair area so we could put our feet up on the 'bar' We are/were big Twilight freaks here, a few summers ago when we were at my moms in BC we went down to Forks, Washington and saw all the Twilight sights for 3 days - it was awesome.
I love this!
I know right?
Is this $210 confirmed FOR SURE? I don't know if I will believe it til I see the flyer.... I don't want to believe it. I thought for their big anniversary year it would be even better. Waaaaa, just checked the SDM thread..... Boooo to $210. I know I should be grateful for what we get but I will be 'losing' $200 because of it.Last edited by bluzsuz; Sat, Nov 24th, 2012 at 09:04 PM.

Haha - my kid is 1 month and 7 days old today
My other 'kid' is 33 years old...I think that the game is more for me
DH is always playing killing and shooting games. I like the dancing and fun games! lol His whole family plays on XBox which would make more sense for him to play the killing games on those so they could play online together, but he's hooked on PS3 (Can't play online between XBox and PS3 at the moment even if people are playing the same game. LAME!). I guess it's worth going to EB Games or something this week and checking out what games come for which systems and deciding based on that!

I got the Wii as they have so many kid friendly games, and it was on for such a great price this weekend, the manager confirmed it won't be as good a deal next weekend. Between the two I got (Wii & Wii Fit Plus) the sales saved me, I believe, $60 or so. So for me it was totally worth it to get them. If I had bought nothing else it would have been $33 out of pocket (taxes and about $8 over the $170). I bought some other stuff as well and had a gift card to use so it was a great deal to me. So far it's fun, I got a Wii Fit kids game with Dora and a bunch of other characters in it for $15 at Walmart, and want to get a Just Dance game for it, then we're set for a bit I think. Until he's a little older and can pick more of what he wants to play. Might try Zumba as well but they are a bit more money than the Just Dance games. Any way. I'm not a big gamer myself so I only looked at what games I can get for it. I like Mario games

Wendy if you are looking for cheap Disney movies go to HMV - they have tons on for $5 right now, plus if you get the PureHMV card (I think $3) you can collect points to redeem against other movies down the road - I picked up a couple of my favorites (Brave Little Toaster 1 & 2 for my kids stockings, Coyote Ugly, Sixth Sense, Deja Vu, Ernest Saves Christmas, Jack)
I have to buy $10 & under gifts for my ex's family on behalf of their grandson so I figured it was a great way to go as they will just give me the DMR codes once they open them
