    haha.. moving is never fun.. haven't done it in about 16 years.. and yet i remember everytime we did move.. like 5-6x in 4-5 years.. with two babies. IF we ever move again... we are hiring movers. NO exceptions. and possibly hiring mr holmes to build our house.. as if we do move its going to be after we win the big one.
    I didn't know/realize how much stuff I had/have.....*sigh* the majority of stuff was packed into rubbermaid containers..some is still packed and I moved a year ago

    [QUOTE=YellowTamborine;5140877]so it seems its my turn for a crappy "i need to vent" story.

    My basement is flooded!!!! we're talking a solid 4-5 inches of water in our spare/storage room. This is the room where i store our little stockpile, all the seasonal stuff, memory boxes and of course, the christmas presents. ALL of them! I was done shopping and wrapping as of 2 days ago and now the room is full of effing water!

    I was in tears trying to save everything but it turns out we got REALLY lucky and most of it is salvageable....the floors and trim maybe not so much but i guess that is what insurance is for. I'm just praying to the house gods that we wont' have to deal with any mold issues down the road. YIKES!

    I'm super thankful we got our butts in gear last month and decided to really organize things last month so most stuff was on shelves and our treasured memory boxes and pictures etc had just been moved into plastic bins from the old cardboard bankers boxes they were in. Would have lost those for sure had we not done that! Phew!

    Downside - going to have to seriously rework the december budget and get creative to replace some Christmas presents. We were able to save some but, of course, the most expensive one's are pretty much toast

    The advent train was also on the floor and there were a few casualties including a book and colouring book for the kids and 2 fpc's for me but i think everything else was pretty safe in the plastic packaging. Trish, most of your lovely wrapping is no more but a good chunk of the kid ones were on top so they're still untouched. no ideas what days are left at the moment but i will try to get reorganized and post pics of what has been "unwrapped".

    aww hugs to you {{{HUGS}}}

    My heart is sad for you... so much of this "train experience" is seeing the posts of your buddy and the gifts for them.

    I'm positive you sent a beautiful package!!
    nowing my buddy she most likely took pics plus I think she has a surprise waiting for her

    I think the lunar calendar must be wrong.....surely its a full moon today! my fridge just started making the most appalling noise. It kind of sounds like a VERY LOUD car motor. Anyways, we have unplugged it and hope that it will cool down then we will try re-plugging it in. but it looks like we need a new one. went round to the super, and she was really rude and said 'what do you want me to do about it?', ummm arent you the super??? i not going without a fridge until monday or later....

    Wow just had a half a day of pages to catch up on. Hugs for all! Sorry everyone has had such a crappy day.

    The show this afternoon was just "ok" Kayden is sick so he just kinda sat there and watched. He looked more zoned out than anything! Of course because he felt so crappy it was hard for me to enjoy the show. So glad the tickets were free! Really werent worth $45 a peice if you ask me! As broke as we are right now i even caved and bought him a stupid Perry the Platepus stuffy for $15! This thing is so cheap it looks like it came out of a $2 grab machine! Oh well, it made him a little happier to cuddle while we watched the second half of the show. he came home and has pretty much been a sleep since so you KNOW hes not feeling well! Hoping tomm. is a better day!

    Sorry between putting things away and the kids running off with things, i wouldnt know where to find most of my weeks gifts, so no pics here.

    my little guy too is fussy today - wouldn't eat breakfast(he asked for waffles), picked at his lunch(his fave pb and j) and ate some apple slices but no pasta or sauce for supper. He has a stomach of steel and knock on wood rarely pukes so we'll have to wait and see - tomorrow is the one and only night this year that hubby and I have planned to go out without the kids :S fakkkkkkkk I have borrowed jewelry to wear, am getting my hair and makeup "DID" bought a knock-me-down dress
