Yep, Tangerine is great. Decent rates compared to big banks, no hidden fees. First order of cheques free. Can move money between savings accounts immediately (PC Financial requires a business day which is annoying).
The only "beef" I've had with them is that their chip on their card is smaller than normal chip cards, and I sometimes have to wiggle it a bit with the machines at stores. Not a big deal

I personally have been using Tangerine (well ING Direct Canada) for a very long time and it has been great. I actually recommended it in an article about two days ago. You can't go wrong in my opinion.

Best chequing account in Canada, especially now with Scotiabank access and cheque-in feature. The savings rates aren't that competitive unless there is a promotion running.
Feel free to use my Orange Key for a Tangerine account!40243436E2

Its a referral bonus. If someone opens an account with your Orange key , both you & the new account holder gets a referral bonus of $ 25 each.
But some other bonuses can't be stacked or combined with the Orange key , so check the fine print..you might not be able to double dip.

The only downfall i find is that if you are in a rural area alot of the "Exchange" networks that dont charge for accessing the account via other banks ATM machines are not closeby.
