yes, I can spot them
the person sometime has body language suggesting that they are not telling the whole truth
if you ask for more details they get flustered and you can tell they are making the story as they speak

the details --> the employer does not need to know
all they need to know is that you are unable to work due to an illness

Yes, I can spot them. I hate lies. As for a white lie, I'll understand and forgive them.
When a person tells a lie, his body language and his eyes will sell himself.

I say it all the time. Sounds bad but it is the most common white lie I tell.

I just told work I had the flu... with them, unless you're twitching on the floor you're well enough to go to work.
