Thanks OP for pointing out the need to keep pathways clear of things that could be a real pain later. I have ongoing issue with senior parents leaving produce baskets/bags in front of pantry that is next to light switch. I conveniently empty said paper baskets when I can and bin the basket so it does not get refilled. The fridge crisper bins seem anathema to my folks for keeping produce longer...
I also look around for other potential foot crunchers lurking near doorways/corners.
Lee Valley Tools has a light sensor (controlled beam PIR light) that can have the light angled as needed and length of light set as needed (30s or more or less) when sensor detects motion nearby. I really need a couple of those-one for bottom of basement stairs, one for cellar area (too many potential problems with workbench, tire and stuff by the path and one extra for night use in hallway on main floor. Need a little light esp. at night for those quick walks to get something or go somewhere.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

I broke my second toe once. I was told to 'buddy tape' it. Basically you put medical tape around the broken toe and the non-broken toe beside it. This helps it to set properly, especially since you can't put a cast on a toe.

I went back to the doctor and it turns out the toes are not broken but badly bruised.

See if you can get some magnesium gel-it stings slightly on intial application but after a couple of minutes, you don't notice it. The gel helps with the bruising colour, if you apply it nightly.
Had a purple bruise on my left thigh (as result of walking into protruding wooden handle) in Sept. and used the gel.Last edited by Ciel; Tue, Nov 13th, 2012 at 02:43 PM.
