UN approves Palestinian 'observer state' bid
The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday endorsed an upgraded U.N. status for the Palestinian Authority, despite intense opposition from the United States and Israel. The resolution elevates their status from "non-member observer entity" to "non-member observer state," the same category as the Vatican, which Palestinians hope will provide new leverage in their dealings with Israel.
Its leaders had been working with dozens of supporting nations to develop a formal draft, enlisting the backing of European countries such as France and Spain.
The vote was 138 delegates in favor of the measure, nine against and 41 abstentions, including Germany.
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

^^ Observer Status, let's hope the Palestinians 'observe' how the big boys interact and learn how to conduct themselves as adults.

Canada and the U.S. stood together as idiots to vote against it How embarassing.
This should have been solved in '47 when they granted Israel statehood. Should always have been 2 states . One of the biggest U.N. blunders.

Israel wants a two state solution. Hamas are the ones who don't, the ones who won't even recognize Israel's right to exist. Obviously that's a non-starter in negotiatons. If Hamas stopped attacking Israel, and recognized Israel's right to exist (as Israel has for Palestine), all of this crap would be over. But there is no negotiating with people who will not be negotiated with.

This has been going on longer than Hamas has been in power. If they would stop building illegally in occupied territory maybe the Palestinians would be more willing to negociate. But let's face it Netanyahu has no reason to want peace. He just keeps giving orders to build more settlements. No regard for the territories.
Why should they accept the proposal of the 2 state solution proposed by Israel they may as well be in concentration camps with the last proposal. No fly zone, no direct routes in and out. They have to live in a maze like rats with illegal settlements all around them, that is no solution.

He is a war monger. At least the world is finally starting to recognize what is really going on here and little by little speaking out. Now they need to stop being afraid to speak out against the illegal setlements and all the other BS going on there.
Canada would be wise to distance itself from the U.S. strategy in the region.
