KrazE...thank you for that breakdown! I guess that truly does save !! Once my "freebie" Purex runs dry I will certainly be looking to take advantage of your recipe to save money!!!
The microwave cleaning is something I've done for a while now! Works great & smells yummy!
Vinegar is a fabric softener ?? I'll have to try this...another great idea!

Baking soda is my fav for getting stains off of surfaces. I pour out a little pile of it and add just enough water to make a thick paste, then rub it into whatever I'm trying to get clean. Gets stains off of countertops, fridge door handles, melamine cupboard fronts, stovetops, cookie pans, the inside of my blender, everything! Takes a bit of elbow grease sometimes but does a great job.
Works great for cleaning the buildup out of a tea pot too, but apparently that's good seasoning and you're not supposed to remove it; oops! Sorry grandma...ING Orange Key - 35355532S1

Here is what I do:
4 cups water in a pot - bring to boil, then turn down to medium heat
Add in the bar of soap (grated!) as it takes forever otherwise
Stir gently until it's all melted (sunlight soup!)
Pour this into a bucket that contains 3 gallons of hot tap water (I have my bucket marked inside at the 3 gallon point)
Mix well
Add Borax - mix
Add Washing soda - mix
You can also add 1/2 cup of baking soda if you wish - mix
Cover & let sit for 24 hours
After 24 hours you will have a gel consistency - this is where you have a mix fest, I'll use my hands in the bucket to break it all up, then stir, stir, stir - separate into your empty laundry soap containers (but not the type with a button spout) as you need to shake before pouring.

"3kg Washing Soda - $7.29 @ HH (Yields 13 cups - recipe uses only 1 cup")...KrazE, where do you purchase your washing soda? I am looking everywhere for it and can't find it. I only find the liquid A & H ? Does HH stand for Home Hardware?
