Ikea grand opening 28 nov 2012

City Place this morning. At 10am there were about 100 people queuing for a chance to win something from Ikea vending machine. It's lot of fun though. I won a bag of candy but lots of people won Ikea GCs. Now I am sure that there will be 1000 people tonight. In the newspaper, the Ikea manager said they expected about 20,000 coming in during the grand opening (not sure DAY or WEEK)!

Last week they were super close to my office, but of course, I wasn't in
I heard that it was 20,000 on opening day.

I will be driving by tmw at 5:30am, if the line is short I might skip the gym and detour. That being said, I doubt it will be short...I wonder if they are giving out tickets or something. How will I know if there are 1000 people...that is hard to judge.

It's going to be cold tonight! Once we reach 1000 people in our IKEA Winnipeg line, we will ask everyone else who arrives to stay warm at home until opening celebrations start at 7AM. Please share.

My husband stood in line for along time he really wanted some candy but was late for a showing...sooooo if anybody gets any bags of candy they dont want to eat.No worries i know what to do with them!! my tummy will thank you but my bum on the other hand will not

so.... I ended up going at 7:15 after the gym. parked, ran from the car, got ticket 988!!! got my $75 gc and was home by 8! oh ya!

peachy-what did you buy?
I went back at 10 after i took ds1 to school. got:
2x lamps for my room (we have been living with a broken one for about a year)=$40
2x shelving units things (the ones they had on special for $29 from $49)=$58
cutting board
napkins
toilet bowl cleaner
kids cups
2xrubber mats

it was about $125-$75gc
oop-$50, oh ya!!!
I might not keep the lamps if DH doesn't like it and then it will be only $10!!!
