The lady at the checkout was awful. I only used 2 coupons, but I had a cart full of groceries some 50% off and meat 30% off. The coupons I used were the mars b1g1 free and the $5 off any ice-cream that is on the cereal boxes.

So she rings through all my stuff and deducts the coupons and it comes to $146.97. So I had 3 of the green shopping boxes that are free when you pend $150 or more. She said to me you can't have those as you didn't spend over $150. So I pointed out that I did before she took the coupons off. I pointed out that they get the manufacturers paying them the value for the coupon and a handling charge so it isn't like RCSS are out of pocket.

So she called the supervisor who agreed with me and told her to give me the 3 green shopping boxes. She then started punching the information into her till so hard I thought she was going to break her fingers. She was so angry, I had to bite my tongue not to make a snappy remark!!

When i looked at the receipt in my car she had deducted the full amount of the ice-cream $6.99 (I got the caramilk one for Easter!) and not the $5 for the coupon value. I didn't feel bad because she was so nasty to me.

Sorry you had such a bad experience.

RCSS and Loblaws want their customers back. Perhaps you should tell the store manager about your experience.
This cashier needs some retraining in proper customer service. The cashier's number is on the bottom of your receipt. I think it is a three digit number.
    I hope this helps.

Stores were definitely ZOOS today and Thursday - you'd think everything was going to be closed for a MONTH - not a day! Sorry the cashier was nasty - maybe she was pooped!

Wow, some people should not work with the public! I bet she didn't like being told she was wrong by her supervisor. I worked in a customer service job for years and no matter how crappy I felt or how nasty a customer was I always served them with a smile. I might have been calling them nasty names in my head though

Ouch. Sorry to hear it was such a run for the money in there! But, you got what you went for and managed to do it relatively unscathed.

Our superstore was insanely busy and everyone was miserable. I struck up a conversation with a woman while waiting in line at the self checkout. Poor thing. There had been a spill in one of the aisles near the regular check outs and she went for a slip and slide with her buggy. The people waiting in line screamed at her because they thought she was trying to "butt" in line with her cart.

LOL @ Mrsb07. When I used to work retail, particularly at the customer service desk, I had lots of unpleasant experiences. My favourites were when someone insisted that I 'smell this' when they pushed their nasty thing across the counter that had gone bad, leaving a slime trail like a slug. I was like um, that's quite all right, you have your receipt, here's your money back. But they'd still want me to smell it personally!

During these times, I was SO afraid that all the things I was thinking would somehow leak out of my mouth without checking with my brain first!

LOL! I know how you feel. I used to work retail as well. I was a cashier at Zellers before and I had a customer screaming into my face saying that SCOP is the Canadian law and Zellers do not have the right to not honor it. But in general, most of the couponers I encountered were really polite and nice.

I've had that problem before with getting the Superstore Promo (sometimes the register just won't take it). Now I always do the Promo Coupon before the Manufacturer coupons.
