No turkey here. I get to BBQ half a dozen chicken breasts and baked potatoes and take it over to my wifes shop for the girls lunch treat today. If I didn't have all these stitches in my finger I'd be at work and having a cold sandwich with the guys. Instead I get a good hot meal with a nicer lunch group. That should help with my healing.

Since ChouChou1962 is celebrating a birthday today,
I would like to say Happy Birthday & not have sound like a cliché,
With extra cause to embrace this one, as we all know you’re so glad,
For you will get the prestigious honour of again becoming “Dad”,
Birthdays are one of those milestones which find us every year,
Some celebrate on the quiet side & some swing from the chandelier,
My birthday wish for you contains congratulations with anticipation,
As someone who is as nice as you, deserves commemoration,
So, salutations to you & all the best for a wonderful year ahead,
For we all know that it’s guys like you who make this a helluva thread!
All the best,
Loocie xxxxx

Good morning, everyone! Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do. We got home last night (& spent an hour consoling the critters that their vacation was over
).
Easter was fun for us, if a bit busy. I had a lovely fish dinner on Good Friday with my folks, Lily had a nice shrimp dinner (I'm not a fan, so had forgotten about some shrimp in the freezer & no, she's not in the least spoiled). Quincy, being a cat (& I'm assuming a lapsed Catholic) insisted on chicken. Brat.
Saturday was busy day of running around, including a long stint baking, then time at the theatre, so no fancy dinner when I got back.
Sunday I went to my friend's. I stupidly volunteered to bring dessert, so was super busy trying to salvage themousse & ganache that wouldn't set.
I'll post a pic later. Ugh. I made a French silk pie (basically a chocolate mousse pie) & a Boston Cream Pie. I should have known things wouldn't go merrily along when I realized I was out of vanilla during the baking process (I subbed almond extract). In the end, my Mom saved the day & baked a lovely little pound cake (2 actually) that I usually take to my friend's (everyone loves it). In the end, I was commended for my first attempts at those desserts & everyone tasted them - they were actually yummy. Looking back, I should have insisted on blindfolds.
Oh & no turkey for us, we had roast pork, mashed potatoes & all sorts of veggies. Oh & I had also made stuffed mushroom caps for hors d'oeuvres.
Monday we had a nice Easter dinner at my folks (friend of the family came over). We had the traditional ham, potato salad & French salad (not enough folks to bother with more). Oh & devilled eggs (also traditional for Easter where we're from).
I think this week will be very light for meals - I'm still so stuffed!
Better go catch up on all I missed. I do apologize for the lack of recaps. I was tempted to get on the computer at my friend's, but that would likely have scandalized the elder relatives present (sigh, she's one of those addicted to the internet, heaven knows what she's doing on there!). My friend is the type that would have encouraged scandalous supposition (D's sooo bad) & I think they might have been horrified if I'd mentioned that I meet folks from the internet (D would have had a field day scaring them with that one
).
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Did anyone else find that there were two chances to enter the 4th grade trivia question? It worked for me some how...
