I don't think you will likely find a buyer-why not order a gift card or two before they expire. This would also get you a one way short haul flight.

Why not just put $3 in Esso gas into your car or use it in the store and your points will be good for another year?

Reopening and closing airmiles credit cards might affect your credit scores...just a kindly remind ;D
I am not very well with collecting points, but I did register Airmiles promotions email and made my purchase while they give double points.
In my opinion, ailmiles is really hard to collect points.....

TD Aeroplan changes that Ellen Roseman wrote about earlier this month:
    http://www.thestar.com/business/pers...s-roseman.html

Seems cardholders can only book through Expedia and your points can lose value mid-November...

I agree and have said as much to others who posted about doing this over and over when new offers pop up.

But if someone had the Airmiles loyalty card separate from a credit card, then no credit card impact.
Good point about the affliated cards being a credit score issue if opened/closed often.

In general, each new CC application may decrease your score by 3-5 points. Some could be more like 5-10, or even more if your credit profile isn't strong

IMO, 3 points drop for $200+ return in welcome bonus points is worth doing it yearly hence my thread

Globe and Mail had a Credit Card Rewards supplement in yesterday's paper (sponsored content) about the different perks on cards.
Toronto Star had a Credit Cards supplement-I made a copy of the article about when a bank issuer raises one's credit limits (pros and cons) for Mom to read.

Found a G&M business credit card article in which some business people share which cards they use:

Which Air Miles credit card offer is best right now? I don't want to pay an annual fee, so considering Amex with 2,000 AIR MILES sign-up bonus, ne fee first year and BMo with 800 air miles, no fee ever. Thoughts?

Right now, Costco.ca has 4x the Aeroplan points. Great deal if you were buying something there anyway.

Just joined Kiva.org, an organization that funds micro-loans to people in developing countries. I love the idea that the $25 I saved in groceries can be given to a fish woman with 5 children in the Philippines to help grow her business.

Read that Aimia, which handles the Aeroplan program, is letting go of 200 staff.

Rexall's new flyer, on page 11, mentions an Air Miles contest for those who swipe their card when they purchase Hallmark cards.

Plus the store has 3 days of Air Miles bonus points (weekend).
