Just signed the petition to allow Canadians to order amazon.com gift cards again. I order from .com alot and with swagbucks and irazoo both doing .com it made for very cheap birthday and Christmas presents for my son. Hope they let us order them again.

By adding the item to your cart and proceeding to the checkout stage, it will tell you before you reach payment stages whether it will ship to your location.

so there isnt a shorter way of finding out items shippable to Canada? u just have to add every item to checkout and see if it allows? Thats time consuming

Usually under Product Details, there's a bit on shipping, whether they only ship to the US or not.

It's a promo event going on through Air Miles right now, so you have to register first on the website. It's on until June 14, 2011.

The other way I find out if it ships to Canada is (i think) when you add it to the wish list? I usually just put everything into the wish list and then the cart and then check all at the same time. But i think a more reliable way is when you look further down the page of the object you want, it says about shipping. Click on it (shipping and weight area).

I agree it's a little annoying. Another tip is to pick the seller that is fulfilled by amazon or amazon free shipping because I find those more reliable (no unexpected costs) and shipping is usually not a problem.

Further, if you're travelling to the US, i often have my stuff shipped to the hotel. I put my name and the address of the hotel and on the 2nd line, i put Hold for GUEST OF HOTEL (eg) May 12-15, 2011.

regarding shipping to canada, some people mentioned shopping via Amazon Marketplace?

Thanks for clarifying..One last questions, there is an option under the deparments dropdown called "International shipping"...so it doesnt mean only those items are shipped right?

This url takes you to items that ship to Canada, but you have to be careful what you click, because it easily reverts back to regular amazon.com. I watch to see if it says "International Shipping" in the Search box. Ultimately though I do go through the check out process to double check if it'll ship to Canada and to see what the shipping and duty is. If it doesn't ship from Amazon you will get charged duty COD.
