[QUOTE=carebearhamm;3315005]starbucks gives away used coffiee grounds (free) for your garden and it works great!!! I add it to my potted plants and i don't use fertilizer (yucky stuff).[/QU

Does it act as fertilizer?? I must try this tip out this Spring/Summer. Did you just call up a local Starbucks?

When baking (most) cakes or muffins, add a 1/2 cup of plain yogurt to the mixture. It makes the end result fluffy and moist.

to get free plants, use geraniums
take them in in the fall, cut down to one third, keep them moist and near a sunny window.
next year you have geraniums again.
you can split them and make more plants each year.
the best ones that survive each year are the ones that are not fancy colours.
so red, white, or pink come back better each year.

If you feel a cold coming on lie down with one ear up and drop some hydrogen peroxide in that ear. Stay there until the fizzing sound stops. Dry your ear then turn on your other side and do the other ear. Works like a charm!

Hydrogen peroxide should be in everyone's medicine cabinet

Here's a tip to pay no fees for bank accounts.

If you are the only named person on your account, you can add another person at any time thereby making it a joint account. If you add, for example, a parent over the age of 60 years of age, you get to waive any of the fees associated with normal accounts because seniors get discounts and you would qualify as well. For instance, you would not necessarily need to keep the minimum $1,000.00 in your account and therefore would not get charged service fees etc. Check with your bank before adding someone to ensure the fees etc. are free should you go this route.

For all those who own a digital camera, here's a great tip:

On a piece of paper, type your name, address, tel no. or email address and state: IF FOUND, PLEASE RETURN TO: (insert contact info here). Then take a picture of this paper. If you can take this out so it remains as the first picture on your SD or Memory Stick card, then you'll never have to delete it.

This works 2 ways - for eg. if you lose your camera, there are good samaritans who could return it to the rightful owner. Secondly, if you lose your camera, someone might in fact keep your camera but they may return your memory stick / card to you knowing that pictures are priceless and really can't be duplicated (unless they wipe out the stick and keep that too). Also, if 2 or more people have the same camera, (say you're at a wedding for eg.) and one person accidentally picks up the wrong camera thinking it's theirs, if you see the identification picture with contact info on it, then you can swap to get your original camera back. Also, if you are travelling, this picture might come in handy in case you leave your camera on a plane or train etc. At least someone has the option of finding who the rightful owner is and can return it to them. One never knows!

Well, I have three easy ones that have nothing to do with pooping or masturbating but holy cow, THAT was funny!!

Save your butter wrappers and save them in a baggies in the freezer. Next time a recipe calls for greasing a pan, whip out your butter wrapper and grease your pan. It's awesome! Just take it out when you prep your ingredients and it'll be ready to use.

Save your bread ends that nobody eats and freeze them. When you have enough of them, bake them on a cookie sheet at 250 until super crispy (quite a few hours) then whizz them up in your blender or food processor...homemade bread crumbs! Bag them and freeze them and never pay for breadcrumbs again!

Lastly....save the ends you cut off veggies and bag them in the freezer. When you have enough just boil, strain and pour into containers or ice cube trays. Vegetable stock for almost free! Apples and tomatoes are a great addition to this stock as well as onion peels...deep, dark delicious stock. Just make sure they're clean before you freeze them so you don't have to drain dirt.

    Couponing is addictive...please enjoy responsibly

Keep the snap off tops from SDM gift cards (the part they hang from on the display) they're great non-scratch scrapers for many things (like crusty casserole dishes)they're also good for spreading glue/woodfiller etc.

    I love this thread..I have a couple

use vinegar for all cleaning..On my mirrors I spray vinegar and clean it with black and white newspaper...its the best!

I make pesto and freeze it in ice cube trays, once frozen..I put them in baggies, the same with fresh herbs...put them in the ice cube trays, add water..once frozen put in baggies and save until you need them.

dont throw out bones, always freeze or boil and freeze. great to add to lots of recipes.
