Dahlia, that's so awesome! I loved the moment when I realized "I finally GET it!" Although I know now that it's a continuous learning experience. But it's like an adrenaline rush when you find those amazing coupons or when you do a big shop with little oop- even KNOWING that you can use a coupon on a clearance item was something I didn't know before I joined SC.
I don't think I'm going to do bonus redemption this weekend- I'm going to save up my points so I can do a couple of redemptions the next time around. There's not a lot I need anyway.

Good Morning everyone ....
I have a question on how the trade rating number is done .... I initially thought that if you had done 10 trades then your trade rating was 10 .... but that's not what I'm seeing. What am I missing? And the "candies" - how do those work?

For the trading rating, the other person has to go onto your profile and give you the ranking with their commentary. It's definitely not automatic, so if you've done 10 trades then I would PM the other folks who have not yet given your ranking.
Candies explanation below, my original thoughts were wrong. Oopsie!Last edited by katie333; Sat, May 14th, 2011 at 04:43 PM. Reason: correction

Just an FYI - I'll be covering rep and thumbs up too. In the meantime, if you're eager to now more about SC this Site Overview may be helpful.

Actually, candies have something to do with how many times you've posted I think- the rep count is something different.
As for the trade rating- your rating goes up for each new person you trade with. So if you trade with me, for example, multiple times your rating would only go up the first time, not every time I rated you. However, you can see your actual number of trade ratings on your itrader page. I hope that make sense!

That's the difference that I was missing .... my trade number is 6 but I have 7 positive ratings .... two are from the same person .... so that is the missing link. Thanks!
On another note --- my curiosity has been piqued with the LD stacking .... so I did a search and found this thread - http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/71990-how-stack-coupons-london-drugs-beginners-guide-canada/
Very interesting read. I do have some questions about the using the last P&G inserts with the save.ca coupons ... but I will ask when I am in LD and see what they say. This site is amazing.

Go Jacquie go! I hope you have luck with your stacking, wish we could do that here!
I admit I haven't been brave enough to do two things yet: Price Match at Walmart or Zellers and claim a SCOP. It would be ideal to PM and then we able to save the number of stores in a trip.Kate

Katie, I still haven't done a SCOP either
I am more aware of what things are being rung up as though! Before I never really paid attention. Thanks SC, lol!

Just came from my SDM freebie shop, and I'm on a high! I used about $22 in coupons, and I finally did my first SCOP. OMG I was so excited.
Got tons of new make up DH got new earbuds, got my Nestea for free (that was the SCOP) and it even had the B1G1 movie pass on it.
We just did the $100 redeem, and after taxes and a little over-excited shopping came in at $123.45, or $23.45 oop. I'll be getting $18 back for my PF MIR as well.
We also got a line on a US paper and omg do they put a lot of coupons in there. I cross border shop every 2 months or so, and from one paper, I clipped about a 1cm high stack of coupons, including a free strawberry lemonade from McDonalds. I can't wait for my next US trip, will be my first time using coupons over there.Kate

Hi everybody!! I was just wondering what had ever happened to the group (i dont get notifications that someone has comment on a thread i am subscribed to :S) So i looked it up! I read to page four but I'll finish catching up in a bit...
I just did a LD coupon stack... I didnt stick to my list and got a few extra things so I walked out paying just over $93. $22.45 of it being tax. I saved $162 or a bit more. Including 3*boxes of Multibonita Probiotics for tax (saved $75) and two pkg of diapers and two med wipes for $3 + tax. (saved $35) I had a rain check for the diapers and wipes! Oh I just remembered that the pencil pouches that where Buy It Now scanned in wrong so I got $13.44 back. I used a FPC for a glad product but will now save all my FPC's for SDM and bonus point days. I
I like to use a regular cashier as they will always open another till if you have a lot or just warn people you might be a while. Smokes can only be bought at customer service and smokers do not like to wait!
I'm very disorganized and busy with three tiny tots so I haven't price matched and coupon shopped yet! But am looking forward to it!!
Did I miss the coupon train?
Am looking forward to better understand SDM and points! Is there a cap on how many points you can collect?

Banana - so glad you're back - missin' ya and you've done so much -- tiny tots in tow is a challenge shopping, let alone coupon shopping.
When you subscribe to a thread you have a "choice" of just having it how up in your list of subscriptions in your mailbox area OR having it also send an email notification every time someone posts. You choose that setting either globally (I think) or on a thread by thread basis -- see Thread Tools on top the skinny burgundy menu on the right hand side.
You can collect alot of SDM points - never ever heard of max. I know I had over 250,000 one time (a long long story ... but I do a ton of donations and SDM was the best way to buy things for hampers that aren't couponable).
I'll let Tami answer about the train.

Hi banana! Nope, you didn't miss it- post #102 has all the train info, you're second on the list to receive it
I'm hoping the trains will make it to the first stop this week!!
Shopping with kids in tow is always a challenge! Mine are 7 and 3 and my 3 year old has a very extended case of the terrible twos
It's a pain in the a$$ trying to stay organized with him around! I have to really plan out my shopping trips, otherwise I get so distracted keeping my kids in line that I forget to use half my coupons!!
There is a giveaway going on here - it ends today but there's still time to post! It's a fun way to get to know some fellow SCers
Check out the Welcome lounge often for these giveaways.
