Now I can make my "Aluminum Foil Helmet" to keep out the alien beams! SCOP

The title is bigger than the SCOP!
I picked up a small roll of aluminum foil at SDM today - tag said .88 - reg. price .99. It rang in at .99.
What a kerfuffle! I asked the cashier for a SCOP. She said they didn't do that.
I pointed to the Standard Code of Practice sticker on her till. She said it was only for items over $10.
I read to her the rule. She called over someone else.
That person went to check the tag. She said - give it to her for .88.
I said, "Shouldn't it be free?" Second cashier had to come over and over-ride it.
Then she had to make a copy of my receipt before I left.
But I DID get it for free!
Do these people GET IN TROUBLE if they have to give out a SCOP?

Once again, it's just like the "Romaine is not a lettuce coupon fiasco".

Tried to use the B1Hormel Bacon Bits, get one lettuce for free at Garden Basket in Markham. The cashier informed me that I could not use the coupon as romaine is not lettuce.
Should have moved to another cashier aisle in the first place as this cashier is a total pain (and slow as well). If anyone from Garden Basket is on this site, please take note.
Tried a couple of times to explain that romaine is indeed a type of lettuce but she wasn't budging. Although I am a calm, easy-going type, inside I was fuming at the ignorance. Think I maybe even said a bad word under my breath.

Oh, maybe I can go SHOPPING for a tin-foil hat!!!!
I was on a site today - and I had to pick the lanuage I wanted to communicate in. I figured "French" - "English" - but there was a whole list - get this - INCLUDING "Klingon". I think they've been watching that show on TV who's name I can't remember where the very intelligent guys all live together - oh yes, "The Big Bang Theory."

Too funny about the hat, but truthfully, I hate having to argue with staff about something that is right in front of their faces. Even here in Quebec, I have realized that a lot of people may be ripped off by not knowing the law.

Good for you for standing your ground. As for the tin foil hats, that's minor. I watched a Repo show where they were repoing a trucker's big rig. The WHOLE INSIDE was covered in tin foil!. Including all the windows!
