I got one survey back in 2010. And a month ago at a local Starbucks I was asked if I needed a receipt for the balance of the gift card and I said yes, and I saw something printed out right after the receipt. I assumed that was the survey. But the cashier put that piece of paper away quickly without giving it to me. I asked her if that was a survey, and she said yes, handing it to me awkwardly, murmuring something like 'oh you can do the survey if you like'. It seems that some cashiers might deliberately keep the surveys - maybe for their friends and families. So please watch for something printed after the receipt - it doesn't happen to every transaction, but once it does, please make sure you ask for it as not every cashier would give it to you.

I usually never bother with a receipt but I will be getting one from now on to check the balance of my gift card and hope there is a survey attached! Free coffee is always good
