I removed threads from 5 more users yesterday (in less than 24 hours since the clean up)

How do you delete a thread once it has expired. I never learned to do that. Sorry if I have several old threads on the go. Please help me to learn how to delete. Thanks.

Maybe I am missing something but what would be the reason to need so many threads other than to make sure yours is noticed. But if that is case and everyone stuck to rules would there be a need for for some threads. I fail to see the need for someone to have so many threads. I do also wonder does bumping multiple times a day (even though you are not supposed too) really get you more trades?

I must admit I currently find it hard to trade. As it seems like as soon as you post your thread is knocked down and it does not seem to matter when you post or bump.

You don't need to delete a thread, once its in expired it does not count towards your three threads.

To expire a thread, go to the first post and in the footer of the post (where it says edit etc) you can click mark as expired

How about adding some prefix options like there are in the train forum?

So, in here maybe you can choose from the following prefixes: Auction / Looking For / For Trade or Trading

Make it so users can sort according to prefix (like how you can sort trains in the train forum to show all the 'boarding' trains at the top).

Is it possible to make it so that each user can only have 1 of each prefix active? If they went to make another one with the same prefix it would advise them to expire the other one. No clue if this is possible, just throwin out ideas.

I understand the point about some people having threads that are not for personal use but could those type of threads be made wiki's? Maybe there's software that will elimate threads that are in excess of the personal 3 that will leave any wiki thread? Or make those type of threads as stickys? Is there software for that type thing?

I think people should also know about the "Thread Starter" button. I'll admit until a few months ago, I had never noticed it. Now it's super handy!!! I usually limit my trade threads to 2, but I'm sure I've forgotten about old ones and they were pushed way back. Now I can easily use "Thread Starter" to see all my threads.

If there isn't any software options for the multiple thread/bump problem and the users know better and simply dont follow the rules, then a temporary ban sounds like it may be in order. Maybe just 1 ban will be enough to get them to realize that ALL RULES need to be followed by everyone. I know I'd be devasted, even if it's just 12 hours! lol

How about when people go to make a new thread there be a little caption of the rules that they have to agree to before moving on to the next step? I'm sure there will be people that will just click that they agree - but if they break any of the rules noted then they shouldn't be surprised if/when they get banned for doing so.
I know when I first started I was a little nervous about posting my first thread I would have read every word of it, lol. It would also be a good way to inform newbies of the rules.

Remember how we used to have the drop down thingymabob that showed similar threads? I asked forum expert if there is a way to drop down something like that with "my threads" - may not be possible but would work best I think

Lola, honestly a forgotten thread here and there isn't an issue. I got through 1-2 a month and delete the threads older than a month which takes just a few mins. The majority of 'innocent' 4th threads are cleaned up in that purge of threads.

Some are very blatant about it, they bump 5+ threads multiple times a day and the bumping is in general an issue, the more people bump, the more it encourages others to bump (because someone bumped 5 of their threads twice pushing yours down to the second page etc)

Also making the rules threads etc wikis means people can edit them to say anything - not a great idea given the topic of them
