My grandma got her license at about 60. And my neighbour was 45 when she got hers. I was one of those getting it as soon as I turned 16, it was right before they brought in graduated licensing in Ontario, I was the only one of my friends to beat it as I recall, so I got to do all the driving.
I am so glad it's Friday and work is done! I have a bit of a busy weekend, walmart tomorrow morning, then off to the old house to clean up a bit and get that darn patio furniture lol. Also need to stop at Metro and a pet food store. Company is coming Sunday afternoon to see the new house, so I guess I should tidy up a little bit at least! Phew... I'm tired just thinking about it all
Hopefully this Walmart will have the stuff I want! Techincally I have the 6 things from the list (and a couple on the way from Well, better be here by Wednesday!!!) but it just doesn't seem like enough you know?

Did some serious shopping today!! I would say I'm about 3/4 of the way done. My goal is to mail out on Monday

I thought of a few more things that I wanted to add to my wishlist this time around, but forgot:
-A small change/coin purse
-A kids book (or board book) "about' Easter. Nothing too, too religious, but something that explains to my kids why we celebrate easter.

I don't have my licence. I have really bad anxiety about driving. Went for my G1 about 5 years back but it expired last summer. Promise I would try to learn how to drive if we moved out west, no point starting here because then I would have to start all over again once we get out there. Oh & on top of that hubby drives manual.

You ladies can do it!!!! Once you actually start driving and work through the anxiety of it, I bet that you will cause your hubbies all sorts of grief, never being home

I didn't get my licence for a while either. I grew up in Ottawa so I just took the bus or walked everywhere. But I went from living in the city to living in the middle of corn fields so I didn't really have a choice, lol.

I was not in a hurry to drive but did get my license as a teenager, than I really did not enjoy driving. If I could avoid it I did and pretty much never left our small town, if I was going to Toronto someone else drove.
Than I became the US Sales rep at work, my first trip our sales manager drove, the second trip he convinced me to drive a little and I did. The last trip I went on, trip number 4, I was not overly paying attention to where we were and next thing I knew I ended up on the major highway in Chicago at rush hour. I was scared I had never driven in traffic like this, I was driving someone else's car but I had to do it and I did and did not melt down (which I really did not want to do but knew it might happen). Now that I have done that I defiantly have more confidence and I am thankful I was pushed to do it. It is nice to know I can if I have too.
Driving used to completely freak me out, I was always worried something would happen or my car would break down (probably because my first car, the first time I went on a long drive it broke down like 30 minutes from home and from than on I was constantly afraid it would happen again and it did a few times, my first car was a good car but old, also I did have a minor incident and even though everyone told me it was not my fault it scared me). Still to this day certain aspects of driving freak me out, like last week my dad emailed me that I needed to bring stuff from his house to the office that would not fit in my car and my sister has my dad's SUV so the only option was to take our truck. A F250 with a plow on it (OMG OMG OMG) and I have to back it down Dad's drive way which is narrow and many people hate and some people who have known us for years will not use his drive way (OMG OMG OMG) I actually had trouble sleeping the night before worrying about driving the truck (especially since a few weeks ago I did put a dent in one of our sales reps brand new cars trying to park it at our office, only had it for like 3 hours and I dented it). But I did it not once but twice.
Driving does give you freedom but it is scary. My words of advice are and this may sound so weird but it is true if you have an instructor you hired teaching you to drive, make sure you are comfortable and like this person. A bad driving instructor can completely ruin it and make things worse, I did not like my instructor which gave me no ambition to try. Recently my grandfather was helping one of the girls take care of my oma learn to drive and arranged for a driving instructor for her, she tried twice and the instructor kept distracting her and was getting mad at her so she gave up. A big factor here was he has no patients for her broken English and just got frustrated if he could not understand her.
Good Luck to everyone working on getting their license it is scary but so rewarding all in one.

Dear buddy,
My favourite tea mug broke today
If you are still shopping I would love a new funky mug... Something girly so hubby doesn't use it for his yucky coffee. I like them a little larger (but not huge) than the average mug- lessens the amount of trips for refills
Thanks!
Love Me- who actually had a great evening! :D

I won't be on much this weekend. Super busy.
A Birthday Party for our 3 year old niece, a Jack & Jill (should be a great night), and a Bridal Shower on Sunday.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
P.S. Buddy you're fun to shop for

Walmart - done! Couldn't find some of the stuff from your list buddy, but I got some neat stuff any way. A few things coming from amazon & well... hopefully early next week lmao, otherwise it won't make it! As long as the stuff ships by Monday I'll get it in time though.
waiting for my neice to show up and watch the boy so I can head back to the old house to clean up and get the darn patio stuff. I am not looking forward to the cleaning, I wish there was someone I could hire to come bag it up and take it away or at least put it in the garage... any one know of a service like that? I don't think it's really cleaning because I won't be washing floors or anything, just getting all the crap I don't want out.
I wish we'd had more time to shop (order online lol) because I'm very much an online shopper, I have way more luck that way. I should start soon for the Mother's Day train I guess, just in case we have a short shop window again.
