I will never pay more than 3.99 for cereal. If I pay more than that and it isn't for the motherload size of a box at costco, I'm rotted. lol

I have a lot of food allergies so am very choosy with what I buy. I make most stuff.
Therefore, I hate to spend more than what it costs me to make:
bread = $0.50 or less per loaf (whole grain, no preservatives, with whatever added yumminess i choose - sunflower seeds, flax seeds, toasted wheat germ)
soy milk = $0.85 for 3L (including splurging on organic cane sugar for a bit of sweetness)
Beans = $2.50 per 2kg dried bag (cooks to the equivalent of 10+ cans of beans and can be cooked in big batches and frozen for convenience)
yogurt = $2 for 8c - equivalent to less than $1 for a tub (not much savings here, but the yogurt's guaranteed to be free of all those awful artificial sweeteners and added sugars that are terrible for your body!)
vegetables (in summer) = $15 for a summer's worth of fresh beans, peas, corn, zucchini, tomatoes and peppers and a fall/winter's fill of turnips, pumpkins and squash. I love to garden, so why not consider the savings involved, too
