I didn't see anything on the spc site or the loulou site about the vip version of the spc card...I wonder if you can use one if you are not going to a school that has an id program...
You get the VIP SPC when you sign up for LouLou when it is offered as a bonus for subscribing. It is a special offer, not an automatic bonus. Here is a thread about last year's VIP SPC offer if you want to read about how it worked. It's usually a summer promotion since the SPC is valid from September to August. I know there was a "bill me later" option when I subscribed online - so maybe it is possible to mail in a cheque or something instead of paying online with a credit card. I don't know for sure. But last year you didn't get the VIP SPC until the subscription was paid for, so by choosing "bill me later" the shipping of the SPC card was delayed.

The regular SPC requires student ID, but the VIP version says right on it "No student ID required" so if you don't have student ID, the VIP version would be best for you.

For anyone who is interested, there is a new promo for 3 free issues of LouLou, Flare, Chatelaine or Today's Parent when you buy Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer (specially marked bottles - the PIN is on the bottle). The thread is here and the website for the promotion is here.

Do the coupon packs come in the magazines sold in stores also? I was thinking of just looking at the magazines and if they have a coupon pack in them, then snatch a few. It would be cheaper than getting the subscription?

I don't subscribe to magazines usually but do have a Readers Digest subscription. I haven't really paid attention before but there is a 'save $1.00 off any Becel Buttery Taste margarine' coupon in the June 2011 issue (needs to be clipped). It expires Dec 31st 2012. Not worth buying the magazine for but if you have a subscription or know someone who does, keep an eye out for it!

If the magazine is wrapped in plastic it should have the coupon booklets inside. If it is not in plastic then it will not have the coupon booklets.

If you're a Rogers customer, most of these magazines (LouLou, Elle, Chateline etc.) are offered to subscribers throughout the year. I've had 6 months free for most of them (Rogers e-mails out the special offer e-mails all the time) and you have the option of subscribing at $1 a month or something like that. Dirt cheap really, but I always let them stockpile and never got around to reading them. Never thought to check for coupons. LOL.
