Hello. My name is Matthew and I am new to all this. I have read alot of the posts on this forum and it really got me intrigued the idea of being able to save money for the things I need and use is great. I dont know where to find many coupons or where to find good deals but I am excited to read through more posts to see if they can help me at all.

Look for tearpads in stores. The way I found them in the beginning was to just go to the supermarket and walk down each aisle very slowly scanning the shelves and surrounding area. Sometimes they're on posts that stick out from the shelves. Stores like Superstore have their own coupons right as you walk in. There are also save.ca, websaver.ca, forget p&g's website, gocoupons.ca. Also if you like some of your favourite brands on facebook you'll sometimes get a coupon. Also there are inserts in the paper such as Red Plum, Smart Source, Brandsaver. Once you've learned the lay of the land in the stores and how to hunt for them you'll be able to stroll down the aisles at a much better pace. There are also coupons on boxes of cereal and other products that you will buy. That should help you out.

One thing I would suggest if you really want to maximise your savings is to make a price list of your local stores. Take the 30 or so items you buy most regularly and go around to each store and write down the regular price and then once you've done that total up the price and you'll see which store has the best prices and on which items. By doing that you'll also know what the best sale price is for those items as well. Another thing you can do that I learned from the same website as the price list is to shop for your weekly meals using the flyers of that week. So you plan out your meals a week in advance using the flyers as your guide.
