Facebook Freebies - booo

My sister and I were talking about this the other day. I used to be far more protected about putting myself out there on the net. She said: "I don't want people getting my phone number" and the like. I pointed out the phone book, directory assistance and now Canada411.com are out there. If someone wants to find your ph. number, they'll find it.

I've been using the 'net since the early 90s and never had an issue.

I have my FB locked down to friends-only, as I don't want a prospective employer finding it... and thinking I'm a Triscuits and Shampoo wierdo.

Or that <gasp> I colour my hair..no really, I ordered the free hair colour for my mother! LOL Yes, I too have a fake FB account and have not one friend. I always snicker to myself when they ask if I will share with my friends. I need a life! LOL

Yes, I also have a seperate email for all my coupon and facebook stuff. With the new changes to facebook, you don't need to show any info you don't want too. It is easy to set up.

You could just join and use it simple for freebies.

Like other posters have said, make an account just to use for Freebies, if you don't want to use your real FB account. And if you're still not waning to use FB at all, then don't whine about missing out. Companies don't HAVE to provide free samples, and when they do, how they go about doing it is totally up to them. If you don't want to sign up, then don't whine about not getting the offers.

I have a fake facebook account as well and have requested freebies but never received any!

Facebook is a great way to get freebies. I joined just for that reason. You could make an account with as little info as possible in order to reap the rewards.

I wouldn't worry to much about it... Honestly I have been on SC more than I ever was on FB FB has become nothing more than a waste of my time...plus don't have all the add this or like that now more of check to see what ds is doing than what I am...

I've received a few good freebies from Facebook. However, many people from facebook are catching on to the freebies so even though I try to get there at the exact time and date they say the freebie is going up, it is already gone

You could always have a facebook account that has no information on it and isn't linked to any of your friends that you just use for freebies and deals, like how a lot of people (including myself) have secondary email addresses for this stuff.

That's what I do...I have created a separate FB account just to get my freebies. I have no friends at all. Just me - a poor loner.

i would just make a "fake profile" i have a friend who goes by "angel horns" and another by "dotty mcnaughty" (i know that sounds dirty... shes just my crazy friend ) but ya just make an account like that or something!

Who cares if someone thinks your weird, its fun getting the free coupon.
