So I am going to play with all my mail and chill this morning, today is the 23rd Anniversary of my dad's passing and in Stevenson tradition I am going to go do something for ME to remember him - getting my hair cut and foils put in. My mom and sis and I do something like this every year, many years I have been with them in BC but not the last couple.
Here is my dad, he was 43 when he passed....

A man who was taken way too early, but who lived his life to the fullest while he was here... I wish you could have seen your beautiful granddaughters, you would be so proud.
Eric Martin Stevenson June 23, 1946 - April 8, 1990.

Dad is gone but not forgotten;
And as dawns another year;
In our lonely hours of thinking;
Thoughts of him are always near.
Days of sadness will come o'er us;
Friends may think the wound is healed;
But they little know the sorrow;
We think of you in silence
and often speak your name,
But all that's left to answer
is your picture in a frame,
If we could have one lifetime wish,
One dream that would come true,
We would wish with all our hearts
for yesterday and you.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
We would walk to anywhere to be with you again.

Thanks GP - it's funny how this one day always makes me stop... it's just a day. But every year I relive it and the 4 days leading up to it.
I love the way you remember and I will definitely incorporate this into my thoughts and routine.
My dad is an Eagle now - and most days when I drive to work over the causeway there is an Eagle in the trees.... making sure I am ok.

I would love an epicure potatoe chip maker...my favorite thing from them is still cheese chives and bacon...
We buy used toys all the time but we have a ton!
Gwenad that is how I save myself the walmart toy grab..we have a thrift store near us and if DS wants a toy while we are out shopping I always say we will stop at the lady's store(his nickname)and you can pick out a toy...so it costs me 35 cents instead of big bucks,and I purge often ,garbage or redonate and I don't feel like I am throwing away $$$
I agree with the lists/questions.let's chat! We all worked really hard on our WL. I ride pkg trains for the fun of the chat,and the chance to do something nice for another coupon queen,the gift at the end is a nice bonus!
Is anybody in Canada having spring yet??? Other than the West coast??

Bluzsuz- sending you BIG hugs, so sorry for your loss.
I love how you remember him. I am a believer that those we have loved and lost are never far away. My Grandma died far too young, and my Grandpa says she is always here....she's in my girls laugh, she's in the gardens she loved so much, and she's in the little traditions we still keep because of her.
thinking of you today bluz, *HUGS*Last edited by CouponLadybird; Mon, Apr 8th, 2013 at 09:49 AM.

It's supposed to be 12 degrees and sunny here today!! Although, at the moment it is pretty gloomy and a little chilly, so we shall see.....
Buddy... I'm not so sure about your "Stuff for the People You Love" List. To be frank, they're a little boring to shop for
, so this package is going to be more focussed on YOU!

Spring is attempting to arrive, I think. I am ignoring the snow in the forecast for Friday, that can still change! It is supposed to be double digits for a few days at least, and we were able to get out for a few walks this weekend. Hopefully after work as well today. I did find it somewhat helped wear the kiddo out a bit so he slept better. For the most part any way, still takes 30 minutes to fall asleep but I turned the monitor off and just go up twice to check on him... I figure if he's really screaming I'll hear him, or the dog will and let me know
Bluz - sorry for your loss, I cannot imagine losing one of my parents and am so grateful they are both still around.

I have seen that one, and another one that slices I'll try and find a picture or link. I saw them on bed bath and beyond I think, also on beyond the rack sometimes lol. One you just push through, which I imagine would be tricky, but not sure, and the other one does like a spiral cut. It's supposed to leave the shell intact, though I'm not sure why lol.

to give an idea
We've been getting a lot of whole pineapples lately and I'm tired of getting prickled and wasting so much of it trying to get it cut up and cored lol.
