Does anyone know of any coupons or good deals on Sunscreen? I am looking for one that is good for kids.
This is the 1st time I have to buy it so if anyone had any recommendations on a good brand.

I have some hawaiian tropic coupoins that are save $1.00. They have childrens versions of the sun tan lotion as well as baby lotion and I find they go on sale everywhere for about $6 a bottle. I prefer the spray spf and find for $6 -$1 coupon=$5 is pretty decent for sunscreen. If you like to do a swap, send me a quick message and we can set something up for this week. I have about half a dozen of these coupons left.

I had zero luck finding any RP inserts this weekend but did end up with two P & G. I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to subscribe to the Herald and hopefully guarentee myself a copy of each when they're released and then I don't run the risk of missing out should the distribution day be different than what I'm expecting.

I think people are stealing them at a 'higher up' level. There are large lots of them for sale on ebay.ca which seems odd.

FWIW I have been looking at the safest and most effective sunscreen for my little one (literally 1 year old this week ) Due to their larger skin surface to weight ratio and sometimes less developed waste removal systems and rapidly dividing cells, I am being extra cautious with what sunscreen I use for him. So far I have purchased ombrelle because I recall that a few years ago it was the only one on the market without a certain chemical that broke down and became toxic in the sun. ( again, just from memory).

Unfortunately this web site didn't rate ombrelle but offered a list of best sunscreens and Hall of shame. I think you have to evaluate the different factors eg:

will you be inhaling them? (some sprays)
what is the UVA protection (SPF lists UVB)
are there hormone disrupting chemicals that act like estrogens?
do they degrade in sun and become toxic?

I printed their "best" list and plan to check out Community natural foods to see which of the items they may carry. I know it will be more expensive but I have to be cautious with the little guy. My dh on the other hand almost refuses to wear sunscreen and enjoys getting a tan. so what can ya do?

I sure miss the days when i enjoyed a good tan and even got fake tans to top up my natural tan. sigh. miss those days!

I agree kim... have been using it for years... there are a few quality products you must spend money on and that is one of them... yaknow loreal makes ombrelle i wonder if we phone the company if they will send us coupons... i like it because they put out a unscented high quality product... when my daughter came down with a allergy to almost every sunscreen in the market i went to the pharmacist and that was the product i was directed to.... now that i am dealing with lupus flares every month i have to have that product as well (supposed to stay out of the sun blech!)

I currently get both papers but got them at a promo price. If you see the Calgary Herald in the store (someone sitting or standing at a little promo table) and sign up it is usually $30 for the first 3 month. After that they usually call you and you can continue on at another promo price but higher. They also usually have a GC for that store at around $10. So not a bad deal to see if it works for you.

People have been selling coupons on ebay for quite some time now but with the big coupon "boom" it would be a huge money maker especially if the coupons disappear from circulation (ie.. tear pads cleared out of the store, taken out of newspapers etc.) I know alot of people think that the shortage of coupons in the stores is because there are so many more couponers but I think alot of it has to do with people selling them and now paid classes are being offered to teach people how to coupon and guarantee's of $xx.xx value of coupons will be supplied to each student so they need their own coupons plus for all their students as well.

Like all "fads" you get people who jump on for a quick buck and make it more difficult for others. Will be nice when it dies down and things get back to normal again or relatively normal lol. jmho
