The Story:

-Found out about the coupon on SmartCanucks
-Looked in my condo mailroom's recycling bin
-Found 30+ flyers, all with said coupon
-Purchased one Scrunge at NoFrills, they made me pay tax
-I contacted a few companies via Facebook asking them if they charge tax on free product coupons now that the HST is gone in BC
-Walmart said they will follow whatever the coupon says(avoided my question)
-Shoppers Drug Mart said they would charge PST
-Loblaws(Superstore, No Frills, etc) said they would charge tax
-Overwaitea(Save-On Foods, PriceSmart Foods, etc) said they would not charge tax
-I went to a few stores during my regular grocery shopping and all stores were out of stock
-Today, Superstore was having a no tax event but unfortunately they had none in stock
-I went to Save-On Foods and found 12 in-stock
-I cleared Save-On out
-Save-On was originally going to charge me tax but after I showed them the reply from Overwaitea they didn't
-I still have 20+ coupons left over

Thank you for the legwork on this freebie. I am new to freebies as well and I was told that ANY free item all taxes are included. We bought the B2G1 free little square items of pate from Whiskas and they should have calculated the 3rd one out (ex.: 60 cents plus tax), each 3. I did not ask but at the end of the transaction the other cashier said she should have done it that way. I don't know anymore. Thanks for all the details and research and sharing with us. I have yet to find some here. Congrats and thanks again.
