We recieved a call this week from a 3rd grade teacher from a nearby school. She had read the article in the newspaper, and shared Hallie's story with her class. Her wonderful students spent their recesses making posters, and practiced an oral presentation. They went class to class sharing Hallie's story, and asking students to vote to help Hallie win an accessible van. We have no connection to anyone at the school... I'm so touched that these children and their teacher did this for Hallie.
We went today to visit the class, and all I can say is amazing!!
We arrived to WELCOME HALLIE on the school sign!
The principal met us in the parking lot, and the VP met us in the hall. They escorted us to the class where the teached greeted us outside, and in the class the students were lined up each holding a letter of Hallie's name! The children proceeded to do their presentation
~ H is for Hero~
~ A is for Amazing~ .....
They did all the letters of her first and last name. The children had made pictures, and letters, and one little girl had wrapped up her barbie doll and gave it to Hallie. They also gave Hallie a hat and t-shirt from the school!
Once the recess bell rang, kids from other classes were peering in the window of the class to catch a glimps of my litte girl. You would have thought it was Justin Beiber in the room. SO SWEET!
The kids all begged to stay in for recess!! so they could spend a few more minutes with Hallie. I can't tell you how touched I am. Tears!!
Hallie passed out cookies to thank the class, and as she was almost done, one of the students exclaimed~ " Is that Hallie's picture!" I picked it up out of the bag and handed it to him, "I can keep it!!!"he said. I told him I brought it to put up in the class. I had some small business cards with a tiny pic of Hallie, that we have been passing around, and said they could each have one. They were honestly more excited to have a picture of Hallie, than this beautiful cookie, decorated, and wrapped up pretty. I couldn't believe it. Sweetest kids ever. I can't thank them enough for the kindness they showed my special girl. Talk about star treatment!

Well, Allie now as lots of friends and i am so happy for her.
Children are a gift from God. They are loving, caring and they like to please.
I work with young children as a Resource Teacher for over 20 years and let me tell you that if i could i would work another 20 years.
My days working with children was full of joy, happyness and if i had a bad day they just new how to made me forget about it.
Well, now i sure hope that Allie can win.......GO ALLIE GO.......

Hmmm maybe more local schools would like a visit and a lesson from Hallie. You should make up proposal letters to the schools and of course include the url to your youtubie that asks for votes. When exactly does voting stop anyways? I've been talking with my six year old about CP, she has another little girl in her class who I recently found out has CP and will be attending a different school next year. I think awareness in curious minds is a great thing. And hey, for anyone who is not voting yet, please do so. http://www.mobilityawarenessmonth.co...ton-cottom-on/

Come on Smartcanuckers, we have 2 weeks left to win this wheelchair for Hallie. For those of you that work outside the home see if your fellow workers can cast their works everyday from the office and then from home. l know as a great community we can all do this for Hallie. And remember to answer that bonus question as you get a bonus vote. WE CAN DO IT FOR HALLIE

Children are so innocent and are eager to help out-they just need a gentle suggestion as to what to do--and look at the results. Hugs to each and every one of those students--and you to Hallie
