Hi
I have not posted in a long while, but have kept on visiting the site...I hope I'm posting in the right area, if not please move towards the appropriate forum...
I have recently terminated in close to 15 year old relationship with my ex common law spouse
I have the need to celebrate my personal victory of finally ending this toxic relationship after many years of misery and multiple hardships.
I would love to throw a party in order to mark the end of the relationship and the start of my newly found independence and to commemorate the numerous obstacles I overcame in order to finally be able to terminally end the dreadful relationship.
Could you help find some thrifty ideas, or advice on throwing this celebratory bash, thanks in advance

Thanks for your kind words
It has been hard but well worth the much needed effort and energy. I am very much looking forward to celebrate the end of the union, regain of my independence and self respect The only remorse I have is to have waited this long...everything in its right time
Thanks Natalka, I never thought of looking at pinterest....nice to see you again

blackpup!
I'm also happy you are doing well and you sound like you're ready to partay!!! Let her rip.
1. Well one idea I saw on a movie is write on the back windshield in erasable markers "JUST "DIVORCED".
2. Then you make a list of all the things he never wanted you to do and do them.
3. Send "Just Divorced" change of adress cards to friends and family. You can announce the party in this as well.
4. The themed stores probably have ball and chains like for Hallowe'en and that could be a cake topper, slice the cake with an axe. Cake should be obsene or those photo images cakes of his face.
5. Of course male strippers and make sure to invite the people he never liked but you did.
Including the men that he did not want around you if this appies.
6. Wear what he never wanted you to wear.
7. Make certain someone takes really good pictures make certain some of his friends get atleast one so he can see how happy you are you have a flippin' party!!!
I always wanted to be an event planner, can you tell?
I got a million but not fitted for the website. I wish you the very best in this new chapter of your life. But make certain not to make the same mistakes. It is easy to do, trust me. Be safe, be well and can't wait to hear more from you and how the party turned out. Your next post should be und BRAG, of your party with pics. Good luck!!!

It's not thifty but it's a great way to celebrate...
I can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.

Hmm-before the party happens, my thoughts are that you see how you feel going solo to public events with some physical component (fundraising walk, Earth Day/community cleanup, Meetup group event that might have a fun sport aspect) to get you out and moving. Then you might realize what kind of tone or type of party you want to have. Basically, use the approaching spring to shake out winter and see if you find a theme that calls to you.
I would not advise using ex's image or props suggesting past relationship in the party-leave the past right there and sing m-flo's song How You Like Me Now? instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ung-YlfB0qs
Go with a dream board or wall and attach words, images or your thoughts to see what comes along in the next couple of weeks. You might be inspired by what you compile!2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

I wish you much happiness as you step into your new life-path...as a wedding officiant, I of course have wedding ceremonies...however...I do have a divorce ceremony I could send you...you could toss a party and have a friend perform it! Or...at least the first part since the rest involves both partners...but the beginning is quite nice, I think in terms of "letting go"...let me know if you'd like to see it....
