i had my best shop ever today. i stopped at two RCSS on the way to work, to take advantage of price matching. Altogether I spent $81.72 and got back $41.80 in points. Thats basically 50% off! i took advantage of the bacon sale and price matched to Loblaws so the bacon came out to 99 cents a pack. Also price matched some tuna, for 77 cents. i had a spend $50 get 5 in points offer too. honestly there was so many items i needed that i price matched and got points for, it was a great feeling, like i won the game.
Last week to load your offers i can't wait to see what Feb will bring
Earn as much as you can this week!!!!!!

A couple of questions before the change over.. why do people not redeem points when they pay? I thought before it was because it was better to redeem for gift cards and then use those, but you can’t do that now.
Also, do gift card purchases count towards an offer of “spend $125 get 12,500 points”?
Thank you!

In my case, I do a lot of small shops that don't reach the $20 current minimum; there are times when I go weeks without ever being able to redeem. And when I can, I don't always remember because I'm not in the habit. ;p
Some people save up their points to use at times when they spend more than usual, or soon after; e.g. during or after the holiday season.
I've also seen one person who says he has started keeping at least 150k in anticipation of future bonus redemption events at the grocery chains.
oh, what a thought.. bonus redemption events at a grocery store....
oh my, oh my.....
I am very, very excited about the new cards.. and the changes there in .
I am eagerly awaiting some very very good deals....
My PC Plus email said no PC Plus website access on Jan.31, so if you are redeeming PC Plus pts, do so by the 30th.
Shoppers Optimum website (just logged on in case of any new offers) states Feb. 1 that the Optimum website is also unavailable
that day when the PC Optimum site goes live at 5am EST.
My offers-repeat points 1000 if I buy $5 of PC totes (keep getting this offer every other week), 200 pts for every $1 spent on T&T snacks, 1000 pts for every $5 spent on Manitoba Harvest hemp seeds (not sure if it's on sale) and some Alba product line gets me points-no idea what that brand is.
I am expecting the new program to offer me points for newspapers and magazines so I can earn points on the next First for Women issue.
Today
8 x 4.98 (pc 500g bacon) -3000 points instore and -4000 for 40 dollars digital
Works out to 1.48 each (I think a great price for 500 gram packs of bacon)
Alba is a body care line found in the natural products section. I love their body cream-nice and thick for dry skin.Quote:

Don't know if it was possible where you are, but here, until the RCSS stores close tonight, Loblaws' flyer price of $3.99 can be PM'd to combine with the in-store offer of 3000 pts per pack. My nearby stores limit PMs to 4 but I've seen reports of people buying 8 and 12 via multiple transactions.
i save them for extra holiday spending, charity donations, or when i see something i really want, thats not a grocery item or outside my budget. it gives me even more pleasure to get a bonus item without actually paying for it.
in february i am doing an eat down the pantry/freezer month. i am challenging myself to spend NO money on groceries other then my $70 in points to buy veggies, bread, milk and eggs. everything else has to come from the crazy amount of food i already have.
Has anyone in the West seen the 3000 points offer on PC bacon? I did not see the offer in my local store. TIA
I do something similar --usually planned for Christmas dinner items, or Januaury purchases. This year, I will be 'eating' my freezer food, and using my points for fresh vegetables, fruits and dairy. Had to replace my van tires, so my total food budget is gone. PC points mean I still get to eat!
so let's all hope this transition goes ok--just in case I am recording my points balance ( for both programs) just in case!
I think that for the mass majority of the people everything will be smooth but if you are in a unfortunate position right now and depending on points, you might want to stock up a bit because if there is a clinch with your accounts it could take a while to get thru to them as i would think their phone lines are going to be tied up abit
ok, so PC Plus has now gone off line as they promised. I'm still not 100% clear on what we have to do in the morning?
From a desktop computer ... Is it as simple as logging into either of your PCPlus or SDM accounts, with normal id and passwords, and expecting to see the new PC Optimum logos, and your total points merged ?
Odd as SDM still working today and they say not going offline until midnight.

Doesn't seem particularly odd. The OPT system is being shut down, so it doesn't have to be replaced, which would take more time. They basically just need to do a data dump into the PCO system and convert all the points after OPT is shut down and before PCO goes live.
