Well (I hope) most of you are wondering what happend to Koolaid and her $25 bucks a week goal! Now I have a story for you!
So my autistic son had a PA day two fridays ago and a school trip the zoo the past friday so Grandpa (Dad) had agreed to go with us to the zoo for a coupon of hours. I figured this would help when the class was learning things....my baby would have seen the stuff he wanted.
Grandpa's Grandparents pass = child in free + disability discount = Mommy got in free too!!!
So after we got back...and laugh but don't laugh I ate a ham sandwich and keeled over in pain. I let my boy swim for a bit but later went home and lived in my bed. Mom came and got the boy who I couldn't handle at this point and in the morning Mom rushed me still in pain to the ER! Thank goodness it was empty! Next thing you know Mom did the ER's doctor's taxes before she retired...bonus care!!!! By 3 they told me I had to stay the night and they had the OR booked for 1 to get out my gallbladder. Surgery went well but what did this mean. No lifting for up to 4 weeks which means......KOOLAID COULD NOT PICK UP HER COUPON BINDERS!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Mom and Dad were awesome carting my son back and forth to school all week, helping me up, and my favourite part, carting around my coupon binders. So my $25 budget went up in smoke as my Mom would only take me to Food Basics. (Now to make this interesting I made my Mom watch extreme couponing for the first time the night before....with the lady who got $2000 plus for free and the store paid her $51 to leave.) Mom raided my binder throughout the store....I got a ton of chicken and steaks for the hubby! All in all my bill came to $120 minus $38 in coupons and my last $10 gift card from stouffers. I go..."Mom....look how much I saved!" and she promptly replies "I've seen better!"
Only Moms!!! So the first have is a brag on how awesome my Mom and Dad are taking care of me when the hubby was away!
Then the hubby came home and did all the chores I couldn't do. He carried my girly coupon binders into all the stores and get this folks!!!!! Used one!!! That's right....he got his chocolate treats cheaper!!!!!! Won't happen again but "WHOOOOHOOOOO!!!"
Also can't forget hotandspicy who went for her first recycle walk....and gave me a slew of coupons!!!!!! So proud of you!!
So the moral of the story, my brag is how awesome my family and friends are...even my son who did all the recycling for me!! Love you all!!!
PS...Got 15 rolls of Hulk wrapping paper for $1.35 taxes in....it's going to be a hulk Christmas here!!!!!! Thank you so much for the laugh - I needed it today. But, I only laughed once I realized you were okay! Sorry about the emergency surgery...hospitals are never fun, but it's great that the ER was empty (for once).
I think families are awesome, but they become even more so when you're in need of help.
Here's hoping you can reach your goal once you're recovered and back to the heavy lifting.

Thanks for my smile.
I hope you are feeling better and recovering well.
How wonderful of your parents to be so helpful - you are very blessed to have them.
On top of this blessing to have them open to the idea of using your binders - AWESOME!!

I have been having pain issues lately and one of the suspects has been my gallbladder (also kidney stone, blood clots and lung issues) I have seen several different doc over the last few months. I am going to have my gall bladder checked later this week. I am kind hoping that it's my gall bladder because at least then I would know what it was and it could be fixed, but your story is scaring me a little. Wish me luck!
I hope that you feel better soon and get back to your couponing ways!I just redeemed my points for $50 in amazon.ca GC's!

Ooo, I feel for you. I suffered with gall bladder issues for a year, starting with back pain and finally jaundice. I went to the ER thinking I had just taken too much advil or something for the backpain, next thing I know I'm being booked for tests and then surgery. Years later, I still have pains when I eat the wrong type of foods, but nothing like when I still had the stones.
