Can you use a coupon with pink sticker items?

I know (and maybe mistakenly), I was allowed to do this but today I was told I couldn't (after having about $75 worth of products in my cart).

I then wanted to use my rain check for $1.47 Degree deodorant and there was only 4 (my RC was for 6). She refused for me to have my RC back (losing out on 2). I asked if we could just change the quantity to 2 - she said no. I knew if I went to Customer Service, I could get this done. So I said never mind and had her proceed with everything else. Then there was toothpaste (pink sticker for $2 and I had $1 off coupon), she said no. I had razors pink sticker ..... and the story continues just the same.

I told the cashier (who happened to be a customer service agent lady too, that I will take my items to customer service because nothing is making sense to me...and I just couldn't handle how rude she was)!!!

Customer service then told me that THIS morning they had a meeting with their employees about pink sticker items and how they are NOT to issue coupons on top of it.

Now, forgive me for perhaps being misinformed myself (if in the coupon policy it actually says we cannot do this, but like I stated earlier, I have previously done this, numerous times, and never had an issue).

Can someone please help me.... where do I find the coupon policy? Have you had issues with this before?

Coupon Policy:

1.0 Policy
Coupon zone coupons, LCL flyer coupons, LCL website coupons and President’s Choice Financial® coupons are all gladly accepted according the terms and conditions printed on the coupon. Manufacture coupons are accepted for in store purchased items according to the guidelines listed in section 2.0.
2.0 Guidelines
2.1 The item being purchased must conform to the product details on the coupon including size, brand, quantity, co-purchased item etc.
2.2 Only Canadian coupons are accepted.
2.3 The expiry date must be valid.
2.4 The coupon must be presented at time of purchase.
2.5 A coupon cannot be redeemed against the “free” item in any offer where the customer buys more than one item to get one or more item for free (BOGO deals). Eg. Buy one bag of chips, get a second bag of chips free – a single coupon can be applied to the purchase of the two bags.
2.6 Coupons have no cash value.
2.7 If the coupon value exceeds the retail value of an item, the coupon value will be reduced to reflect the retail of the item.
2.8 All sales taxes are paid by the customer at the retail value of the product. Refer to 2.9 to see Free Item guideline.
2.9 The value of a coupon that offers a product for free will include the amount of any applicable taxes.
2.10 Home printed coupons from emails or websites are accepted in black/white or colour. Manufacture coupons must have a valid manufacture address on the printed coupon, expiration date and be completely legible.
2.11 Photocopies are not accepted.
2.12 Coupons are void if they appear distorted or blurry.
2.13 One coupon only per item purchased may be redeemed during each store visit, even if a limit statement is not included on the coupon. Coupon stacking is not allowed.
2.14 The Store Management reserves the right to restrict individual item purchase quantities to reasonable family limits.
3.0 General Information
3.1 Each coupon will be reviewed to ensure it complies with the details of the section 2.0 Guidelines. We appreciate your patience during this validation process.
3.2 Customers with excessive amounts of coupons in a single order may be asked to relocate to complete their order as a courtesy to our other Customers.
3.3 We may change this policy without notice at any time.
3.4 All coupon redemptions are subject to the policy in effect at time of redemption.
3.5 Competitor’s coupons are not accepted.

I have wondered the same thing myself in the past. I haven't tried to use a coupon with a pink sticker item, but I've wanted to. I keep wondering if the pink sticker is a reduced price (they say 50% off, so is that what they are) just like a sale item, or is it like an in-store coupon.

I hope someone has a definitive answer.

I wondered that too. Thank you for asking. Before I thought asking one employee is the correct answer but have quickly learned that this is just an opinion that can be in my favor or not. So will check too and find out.. if I find out anything will report back in.

Me too hopefully a definitive answer in writing that we can print.

I just bought the Crest mouthwash with pink stickers = 3.49 less 50% and then the $1.00 coupon with no problems

I do it all the time at superstore, but at No frills they will often say 'this time only'. try try again...although it's super annoying when you're already there and getting shut down..

Where are you getting this information from? I cannot really pin point it on the coupon policy and no one from head office has gotten back to me.

I have been successful on many occasions and only turned down a few times! Most of the time I am happy with the reduced price anyway and I don't fuss about it!

Directly from the front end manager.
Basically, if they want to restrict people from using coupons with pink stickers, they need to specify that. In their policy and probably one the clearance shelf.

Seeing how HO isn't doing anything....in relation to the coupon policy (posted above) how do I prove that we can?
It clearly doesn't speak specifically about pink sticker items. It only speaks of BOGO deals.
I believe we have a good argument
They have my items on hold until tomorrow... haha
