I recently discovered a local wholesale fruit and vegetable store in Hamilton called FWP wholesale on Ewen Road.
I was a bit skeptical at first considering this was just a place I was told about and that "is run out of the back of someones house" Weird I thought but what do I have to lose?
Anyway I went to check it out and boy was I surprised at the deals! Nothing is priced so I wasn't sure how much I was going to be paying (it's Cash and Carry) so I was a little hesitant to just grab things since I only had $40 cash on hand. I picked up what I wanted most and went to pay. Here is what I got:
1 - large red onion
1 - large sweet onion
2 - large baking potatoes
1 - large head of lettuce
1 - xl cauliflower
2 - large red peppers
2 - large yellow peppers
2 - large orange peppers
2 - bunches of green onion
3 - red delicious apples
5 - bananas
1 - package cherry tomatos
3 - medium naval oranges
1 - bag of loose mushrooms (approximate 20 medium mushrooms)
4 - corn on the cob
I was expecting to pay around $20-$25 for all of that when I was vaguely comparing to supermarket prices.
The man calculated everything on a calculator and came up with a grand total of $13!!
I was amazed. There is no way ever that I could have left the supermarket with all that for $13 since right after there I went to walmart and they are asking $1.47 for ONE red pepper.
I have no idea how they calculated each item and I don't care either. LOL I will always go there for my produce and fruit from now on. They had almost everything you would need there.
No picsI wish my husband didn't put it all away in the fridge when I dropped him off at home with the stuff but I can't complain. I didn't have to do it

That's awesome - I did a quick add, and that would cost at least $25 here.
It's always great to find a good place like that!

Thank you! I finally checked this place out, and love it! Excellent quality and so cheap, especially considering the time of year.

Definitely worth checking out.
For only $50, I got:
2 bunches of kale
6 english cucumbers
2 bunches celery
2 green peppers
2 red peppers
1 yellow pepper
1 jalepeno pepper
bag of beets
pomegranate
sweet potatoes
2 doz free range eggs
spinach
lettuce
parsnips
green onions
butternut squash
10 tomatoes
spanish onion
6 pears
ginger
dozen oranges
4 red delicious apples
4 golden delicious apples
4 granny smith apples
mango
avocado
2 bunches fresh carrots
pineapple
cherry tomatoes
2 lemons
2 quarts strawberries
blueberries
blackberries
So I am very happy with this as we are eating more fresh and less processed foods and will last us about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, it is a week and the produce still looks great. As CrazyQT said, there are no prices, but when you pay, they let you know that if you aren't happy with a price, let them know. Needless to say, I was happy with it all. The selection is great! Time to go back soon and stock up.

Love FWP...I always make sure to sign up to bring veggies and dip when I go to parties because I can make it for super cheap
It's super weird the first time you go there, but definitely worth it! I always make sure to tell Mac students I meet about it.
