Our neighbourhood was having thier yearly garage sale. This year, I was actually in search of those readily available kids items that most garage sales seem to have and that I usually didnt pay much attention to.
Until the GD came along shes 13 months. Today I found her a little tykes slide $5.00, Little tykes pink double side easle $5.
A little tykes house type of toy. It has a door but has no roof, has a mail box, and a litlle hole to crawl out of too. A bird in house that chirps when you push it. It was a bit rough and needed some washing up, but for $2.! it was a steal! And she loves it!
Also got her a little tykes sand and water table for 10.! So it was a very good day in the neighbourhood! LOL
Oh I also got her a little peoples princess castle for 5.00 too, some large blocks for 1.00, a kids construction hat (like her dad and grampa) princess gloves 1.00 ( to help gramma in garden) and little peoples boat bath toy and a puzzle $5.This thread is currently associated with: N/AThe most serious gardening I do would seem very strange to an onlooker, for it involves hours of walking round in circles, apparently doing nothing." --Helen Dillon

Great brag! I have gotten so many little tykes and step 2 items at garage sales. Its a great way to get slides, playhouses, learning toys, books. The retail prices of these things are usually insane!

I love garage sales, Craigslist, etc. IMO there's no need to produce more things, just recycle and reuse....

I love garage sales! I can't wait to start buying kid stuff at them. Looks like you found some amazing deals!
Maybe when she's a little older you can take her along with you to some garage sales and let her pick out treasures of her own with some change. I love seeing little kids out buying things, it's a great learning experience for them.

Great deals!!!
I LOVE yard sales! Hubby and I go quite often, and we also discuss our "score of the day" after lol -- last time it was a a big tub of assorted nails all nicely separated into containers for $1.00. Hubby was so happy lol.

absolutely, that way she picks what she likes. But Sat was a grab and run type of day, I had big plans (as usual LOL) to start off early. Also wanted to go to Old Navy to get some of the $2.00 tank tops, which turned out to just be camis
I wanted the ribbed tank tops. Then I had to run all the way to the middle of the city to drop off GD's car seat to her other gramma.
Well I didn't get up early, and it was already almost 2 after all my other running around. So ran back to my end of town and hit about 3 garage sales and found what I wanted for her to play with in the yard, so it all worked out.
