I am so hopping mad.
I went to SDM with DD this morning.
I just signed up to get texts messages from SDM yesterday, 10K WUS $40, expires May 21.
I wanted to take advantage of the Pepsico coupons and 6000 points WUS $20 on Pepsico.
I also had a personal offer of 200/$1 on Pepsi products.
First thing I did was asked cashier to scan my phone. I said I had coupons (FPC). She refused to scan my items saying my purchases would not come to $40 because they were free. That's fine. Just scan them. She still wouldn't because it would not work. That's when it went downhill. We said it's not your place to decide when an offer works, just scan and let the computer calculate and if it's less than $40, then we are good with it. It'll be our problem, not yours.
Still wouldn't scan them. Then she called for the floor manager and he also said it would not work and said to make two separate transactions, one for the $40 (which would be under $40), and the second transaction for the FPCs. Like WTF? Back and forth we argued, just scan everything, scan the text offer and if it don't work, then no big deal. If I don't get the points, I don't get the points. My problem, not yours.
Then the store manager was called. Have to explain everything again. She said yes, go ahead. While the transaction was in progress, store manager called cashier and asked for the date of the offer. It expires on May 21, store manager tell cashier that offer starts on May 21 and can't use the offer. I'm ready to bang my head on a wall. Have to show on the phone that it expires on May 21 and not start on May 21. I have no idea how many times I had to show the offer.
I'm going to let this pass, because this is the first time I'm using a text offer. Maybe you get text offer to use in the future and not as soon as you get a text offer. Any insight to this dilemma would be greatly appreciated.
After all items were scanned, she looks at the screen and points out the deposit on cans. This does not count towards your $40, that's fine, just continue. On a side note, I calculate everything before I go to the cash, like all smartcanucks.
Does she do this for all customer transactions, analyze what you buy, decide if it qualifies, and refuse to process even if the customer wants you to scan everything through?
I had 4 FPCs, 3 with tax, and 1 without tax.
She did the tax free one first, the Pure Leaf FPC, $5.99. It was on the screen. Then she did the one with tax, she's scrolling trying to find the item with the exact price, not the price with tax included. She was trying override the price and I said the coupon says tax is included, so I pointed to the screen and said, that one. For each and every FPC.
If she wanted me to pay the tax, then she should've push the button for $$ off coupon instead of free coupon.
When we got our receipt, my DD says loudly, ooh 10,000 points, where did that come from? LOL. I'm pretty sure we spend over an hour arguing.
Subtotal $44.11
615 base points
10,000 points from text offer
6000 points for buying $20 in Pepsico
4000 points from 200/$1 personal offer for Pepsi products
20,615 points for total of $28.79 (including tax and deposits)
I'd like to trim some of my relatives off my family tree. They are wiping out my goodwill and I don't have time for that. Talk to the hand, kin.
People who use their cellphones in public like they are walkie talkies. This is the pinnacle of stupidity. The phone is for conversations privately and to be held to your ear. You want to use it as a speaker phone do it in your car or at home. I was out on my lunch and foolishly sat next to a party of two which then became three via "smart" phone. It took everything not to jump up from table and give these people a piece of my mind. The cellphone is not a damn walkie talkie for silly conversations in public places. UGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH.
My gripe is when they HOLD it in their hand like that while driving. ANd sometimes (for whatever reason) holding it horizontally, flat like it's a pizza whilst doing it... and driving.
Folks, driving and using your phone is supposed to be done HANDS FREE -- Holding it, in ANY fashion, is NOT HANDS FREE.
The legal requirement that suggests using the speakerphone feature is intended if the phone is on a mount or on the seat next to you... or using the in-car speaker system (via bluetooth)... or a bluetooth earpiece... but forgoing your hands all together.
If you take certain cardiac meds--as in ACE inhibitors (this would mean a med that ends in -pril). It is termed a 'captopril cough'. If that's not it--maybe go to a family doc for a workup--crummy sleep isn't good for healing of the body or mind (or your family members or co-workers ;). Take care of you.
General rudeness in public place when kids are present. Whether it be a movie theatre or theme park parents please set a proper example for your kids. This includes budding, cursing and other general crappy behavior. Your kids are watching and learning from the example you are setting!!!
Ugh! I really wish customer loyalty meant something to the Royal Bank—- free iPad for new customers! But nothing for those long term customers....and when I decided to pull out what little savings I have to pay some home renovations ..they call me up to tell me what a bad idea! I shouldn’t take my money out? Really?
The nice weather has brought out the door-to-door salespeople.
Over the past week, we have had at least one every evening.
No, we don't need the house painted, nor the windows redone, or a new security system...
To Olivercat:
I hate when they give big prizes like that to new customers. I have been a loyal customer there for a long time and they never give incentives to anyone else.
i do take a blood pressure that ends in -pril one of the side effects is a throat tickle, i've been on it for probably a year now and this cough has only really kicked in back in about march (right around the time i got a cold), i may be bringing it up with my doc next time i see her in about a month or so.. i know how colds can linger but this is lingering just a bit too long for my liking
i'm really hoping i don't battle this for 4 months (though i'm already half way there), and i fully get the afraid to leave the house for a coughing fit could cause you to pee yourself.. i've got that same worry lol but some days can't be helped.. i do have some cold meds that contain Mucinex (Guaifenesin) in it, i've been dosing myself with the cold med stuff at bedtime, then again in the middle of the night (after the suggested timeframe of the 4 or 6 hours on the bottle).. i did straight codeine tabs this past weekend and they worked like a hot damn, though not too sure if i could get my doc to prescribe them lol (my mom had some in her collection of drugs lol <-- we tease her a bit because she seems to have everything, all properly packaged and labelled though)
though to be honest i think a part of me is just sick of being sick, sick of being poked and prodded and i'm ready to have a spell of time where i'm not seeing a doctor or someone health wise, (back in the end of Feb i spent 5 days in the hospital (bit of a horror experience) due to my gallbladder giving me chest pains and getting that removed, then a month later i got the cold that never ends, few weeks after that finally saw a specialist *yay another med!* and off to get a MRI next week) i half dread telling my doctor about family history i just found out about (my mom recently found out alot of her family history and then let me know) because i know that it would just lead to more tests.. and the one rather invasive one no one likes to do (colon cancer runs in the family, so that means camera up the rear) i finally feel like i fit right in with all the older generation in my family sitting around a table talking about the meds they take lol and i'm really not that old
Had at least two library patrons use speakerphone on their mobile phones in the middle of the library over a week ago. Most annoying thing, after loud ringtones in libraries and persons talking like they are alone in the library and being loud on their phone chats. As far as I know, none of the users had a disability requiring the phone for voice software use to communicate with library staff.
