Thread: Introducing Rogers First Rewards

Hey everyone,
Thought I'd share a bit of news with you today!
Today, Rogers begins rolling out a new customer loyalty program, Rogers First Rewards, as a way to thank and reward our customers for their business.
With Rogers First Rewards, customers will earn points on eligible purchases. These points can then be redeemed for a wide selection of Rogers products and services.
Customers will have access to rewards depending on their region. Wireless rewards include: U.S. and international roaming packs; talk, and text packs; long distance calling and more. Within Rogers cable footprint, customers can redeem their points for rewards including: Upgraded internet packages; home phone long distance; premium TV content and Rogers On Demand packages.
“Our customers have told us they want to be rewarded for their loyalty and we’ve listened to their feedback,” said John Boynton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Rogers Communications. “We’ve worked diligently over the last few years to create an easy and simple program to thank our customers for their business and to show our appreciation.”
Customers enrolled in the loyalty program are assigned a Rogers First Rewards tier and point accrual rate based on an average of total account holder’s spend: Silver Tier customers earn 1 point per dollar, Gold Tier customers earn 1.5 points per dollar, and Platinum Tier customers earn 2 points per dollar. The program will be available to consumer cable, wireless, internet and home phone customers in key markets across the country throughout the year. Eligible customers will be notified and enrolled when the loyalty program becomes available in their region.
Feel free to reach out should you have any questions.

Do you have a list of when it will be rolled out to each city? Also, what makes you a platinum member?

Hi web3,
Sorry to hear that you feel that way. Is there anything I can do to help?
So you know, the program is rolling out regionally across Canada throughout 2013. All eligible existing customers will receive notice by mail or email when they are eligible to take advantage of the Rogers First Rewards program.
You can also self-enrol by signing into your MyRogers account and following the steps at rogers.com, when the program becomes available in your region.

Hi CouponLover,
I don't have a list of rollouts, but existing customers will receive notice by mail or email when you are eligible to take advantage of the program.
You can also self-enrol by signing into your MyRogers account and following the steps at rogers.com, when the program becomes available in your region.
As an existing customer, your tier level depends on your average account spend for the past 12 months.

Well I'm looking forward to this. We switched most of our services late last year but kept our cell phones with Rogers. It's a nice idea and hopefully it will be available where I live soon. If I'm paying my bill anyway it'll be nice to have a little reward system attached. Thanks for the info

nice idea, but would rather they just lower my monthly bill. That's what will REALLY keep me loyal.

Can you give us an idea of the redemption levels (how many points required for a sample of rewards)
What account spend triggers the higher levels?

Hi FallenPixels,
We'll have more details around your first question soon.
As for the tiers, this is how it breaks down:
As an existing Rogers customer, you have been assigned to one of three Program Tiers: Silver, Gold, or Platinum based on your average account spend for the past 12 months.
Silver:
Avg Rogers Bill = $0 - $69.99/month
Gold:
Avg Rogers Bill = $70 - $199.99/month
Platinum:
Avg Rogers Bill = $200+/month

Don't expect that ..its too much to ask
..3 year contracts and expensive bills is their expertise.
The only time they will give you a break is if you threaten to leave..and that too it will be a temporary break , after which the prices will be jacked up again
If you have Wind Mobile in your area try to go with them if you can..much cheaper and much better plans.

Wind does not do cable, home internet etc, and as a huge WIND fan, their service and phones do not compare to Rogers

Is it true that you can not use the rewards program if you have a Better Choice Bundle?

But there are others who do home internet for much much cheaper than Rogers and unlimited . Rogers internet caps and overage charges are legendary.
By service if you mean area of reach , yes Wind is smaller and new and still expanding..but most major areas are covered ( population wise ).
By service if you mean Customer Service then Wind Mobile Is miles ahead of Rogers
As far as phones are concerned checkout their line up below . They have more than 25 phones which includes Samsung Galaxy S4 , BB Q10 , BB Z10 , LG Optimus, Google Nexus 4 etc etc . more than enough choice for most people. How many more phones do you really need ?
http://shop.windmobile.ca/ProductCatalog/Handsets/
The number of AWS frequency compatible phones has increaesd a lot .
There are also tons of other unlocked phones , which work on Wind's frequency in addition to the ones above
. And Wind Mobile will even give you $ 300 credit for bringing your own device
http://www.windmobile.ca/en/Pages/Br...rOwnPhone.aspx
Not everyone needs an Iphone 5 , and even certain Iphone models can be used on Wind Mobile the same way they are being used on T-Mobile in US.
As you said , You are a HUGE Wind fan , I am not surprised you are ..there is a reason you are ! ..same thing unfortunately can't be said of Rogers.
I know people who are stuck in contracts with Rogers ( their fault not Rogers ) and can't wait to leave and are literally counting the days
The Big 3 with their monopoly have been price gouging customer's and taking them granted for too long.
Bell is the worst , then Rogers and then Telus.
But I am pretty impressed with Rogers sister brand Fido , if at all Rogers is going to get any of my business it might be Fido .
